The fuel tank has probably rusted through somewhere on the top of the tank. The fuller the tank the easier for the fuel to be josiled out. Regardless it is only going to get worse. This can be an expensive repair. I was a parts manager for a Ford dealership and I can tell you that I would go to an aftermarket parts supplier like,
Ideal Supplie etc. and price one out there. Your cheapest bet is to check for a garage that specializes in fuel tank repairs. They can sometimes repair the old tank, if you have one in your area, or see
if the aftermarket parts supplier can ship the old tank out to be repaired. They sometimes have outside sources.

If you recently replace your fuel pump, then maybe they didn't put the deal ring or it came loose, if that's ok, check your over flow hoses, also the fuel filter, careful its pressurized.

I have a 2000 Lincoln ls v6 engine light is on 'the system to lean bank 2' what does that mean?

If it is running too lean it means that you are getting too much air to gas ratio. You probably have an air leak somewhere or need an adjustment to fix the problem.

My 2000 lincoln ls has been siting in the garage for 2 years. what do i need to do to ensure it will start and run properly

Well with fuel injection you should dump the gas , and put fresh gas in to help the injectors . But I have put pure rubbing alcohol in the tank with injector cleaner and started it anyway !

2000 Lincoln ls where do you put break fluid in

The brake fluid goes in the brake master cylinder. (Fluid Reservoir)

There are pictures on pages 197 and 198 in the Owner's Manual (depending on which engine you have) they will show you exactly where this reservoir is located.

If you do not have an Owner's Manual, you can download a FREE PDF version: click HERE.

Also note that you should NEVER have to add brake fluid to your car. If the fluid level is low, then there is a leak in the system that MUST be diagnosed and repaired IMMEDIATELY! Failure to immediately repair a fluid leak in a brake hydraulic system can lead to serious personal injury, property damage, or DEATH!
