Question about 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt LS
Replaced spark plugs and boots, added cleaner in tank
Advance Auto will read your codes for free and give you a print out of codes. This will save you $100 and a lot of guess work. I know MAF, MAP and PCM sensors are common problems on these.

Testimonial: "after reading codes, replaced cam sensor, solved most issues.Read code after cam sensor,37 degrees out of time-timing jumped, car runs still, don't think it bent valves"
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

try giving your car a simple service, change oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs and leads etc. also get your wheels aligned and balanced as having bad geo can also be bad for fuel consumption. if that doesnt work then id recomend a garage.

Buy a couple bottles of gas line antifreeze.... the coil would have been my first suggestion... but it sounds like you have water in your gas as well.... gas line antifreeze is alcohol (not the kind you drink) it sucks up water tho.

Sounds the EGR valve and EVP sen is bad even if you tested it. The EGR valve cntrols idle and if carbon up will make the car stall or idle high and low (rpms going up and down) This was common on all cars during that time. I would say replace the EGR valve and senosr. This should take care of the problem. One more thing have the fuel pressure check on the car.

Have you changed the fuel pump yet?I had the same exact problem.I replaced my fuel pump with an AUTOZONE PIECE OF JUNK fuel pump. That pump lasted almost 2 days. The second day i had it the truck didnt want to start but it did and it ran like ****,and when i put it in gear it ran as long as I didnt touch that gas pedal. You could go get a fuel pressure test or just replace it,your call. You might want to check your filter too but im sure its the pump.Good luck
