Question about Dodge Ram 1500
Circuit tested the factory-installed 7-way trailer plug. All terminals have power as necessary EXCEPT for the one that charges the trailer batteries when it is being towed.
The power for the battery charging usually goes directly to vehicle battery with an inline fuse , hope this helps

all you need is a cheap continuity tester, any one to help tap on the brakes..7pin is just like the 4 pin w/extra power wire for acc.lites, electric brakes.when you buy the 7pin rec.,comes w/wiring schematic standard to all trailer rec.- you can do it..kev-mn.

You are correct. There is a fuse in the underhood fuse/relay compartment that powers up the pin. It is one of the larger fuses and should be labeled as "AUX". Also check that the power wire is connected to the AUX bolt terminal. They shipped from the factory disconnected and the cable was zip-tied to something below the fuse box.
