SOURCE: Turn Signals not working

This problem is most likely due to a blown fuse for your turn signals. Check the fuses under your driver side console and replace any that have broken connections, use the exact same amperage replacement fuse. There may also be a turn signal fuse in your electrical box under the hood open it up and check those as well. Hope that helps if you are having trouble removing the fuses look for a little tool in the fuse box that can grab and help pull them out.

The handle that you grab to turn on the signal is part of the switch. It all has to be replaced. It's right under the steering column cover. There are three or four screws on the bottom of the cover, there are usually two screws that hold the switch on to the columnn

My 1997 mercury sable signal lights dont work right after I turn the hazard light switch on

The flasher module is responsible for the flashing of the turn signals and hazards. this device will fail overtime. you will need to replace this failed module asap. Replacing the flasher will restore the signal functions in this vehicle. (Check the bulbs before replacing the flasher)
