Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
I come to a stop in my 99 Ram. Oil pressure drops to 0, then jumps back up and check gauges light comes on. Start driving, everything is ok. Until I come to stop again. What's going on?
Change the oil! The 318Cu in V8 (5.2 liter) engine has a problem with sludge build up on the oil pump pickup tube screen. This engine requires oil changes at or before 3500 miles with a high detergent oil.

Check the electrical connection to the oil pressure sender, if it's absolutely fine then replace the sender unit. They often go wrong and they're rarely expensive.
