Sounds like a serious wiring problem. I would advise you to have this looked at or fix your self before using the vehicle. I had a car catch fire because of a similar problem many years ago. Could be a simple fix if you can locate the wires causing the problem. But finding one at the fuse box will prob be very difficult.

Fuse No 64 on back of fuse box inside cabin behind glove compartment undo two bolt and turn fuse board around pull the wires gently apart to see fuse 20 amp

you might have to just crank it when you change the filter it has to fill it back up so keep tryin and spray some ether in the intake if it starts you just not gettin fuel yet

Problem with 2001 1.6 Focus which i was going to purchase for the wife, but problem with central locking! key fob totally dead even when i tried the reprogramming trick (key in ignition press button several times) and when locking/unlocking manually, central locking only working intermittently! Please help regards steve
