  • If you haven't changed the Fuel Filter in the last 30,000 miles, please do that and follow it with adding Fuel Injector Cleaner to the fuel tank.
  • If there is a fuel pressure test port then please check the pressures.
  • If the fuel pressure is low then check the fuel pressure regulator.
  • If all does not works, please refer a certified mechanic locally.

Testimonial: "Thank you so much, Victor. 1. Fuel filter replaced. 2.When the car run normal, the pressure is around 50 3.When the car is cold, turn the key in, you can hear the pump priming, Once you drive for a while,eg 30min, stop the car, couple minutes later, when you try to restart it, turn the key on, you can not hear the pump priming, wait for a while, try the key on, once you hear the pump priming, the car run perfect."

2006 Ford F-150 5.4 engine: code P0191 fuel rail pressure sensor circuit range / performance

First step is to change the fuel filter and test the car. If the problem still occurs: The fuel pump driver module was corroded through from salt and was malfunctioning. Bought a new one and runs great. Problem fixed. See pictures below:

This is why salt destroys cars.

You need the Ford dealer to run an active test on the system, it will cycle the fuel pump on and off and return problems found with the relay or other circuit.

Fix the Ford P1233 FPDM Fuel No Start Problem Here's a fix for that no-start condition on 2004-2008 Ford trucks. The FPDM (fuel pressure driver module) usually shows up as a P1233 diagnostic trouble code (OBD-II) when the truck's codes are read. A Ford P1233 code is described as Fuel Pump Driver Module Offline or Fuel System Disabled or Offline. A search on Google for Ford P1233 shows that this P1233 DTC code is not limited to being a problem on just Ford trucks. Others with the Focus, Mustang, Town Car, etc. also experience this problem.
You may experience stalling, no-starts, random no-starts, or other potential symptoms. A quick search over at MotorcraftService.com (a Ford service web site), they offer the following possible causes if the P1233 code is triggered:
  • Inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch needs to be reset.
  • Open FPDM ground circuit
  • Open circuit to FPDM PWR RLY
  • Open FPDM PWR circuit
  • Open or shorted FPM circuit (engine should start).
  • Damaged IFS switch.http://www.fordf150.net/images/articles/fpdm4.jpg try link hope this helps it may be it would hate for you to change fuel pump and it not be fuel pump

Fuel pump only comes on sometimes.

Ford released a SSM (Special Service Message) stating that 2003-2004 Town Car, Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria models may exhibit code P1233 with possible drivability or no start symptoms. It suggests that before replacing a suspect FPDM, fuel pump relay, inertia switch, fuel pump sending unit or PCM, the following things should be checked: Check for a loose PCM pin fit issue. Check for a loose or faulty ground at G101, G103, and G400. Check the FPDM harness located behind the rear seat at the base of the C-pillar for chafed wires on the bracket and check for a circuit or connection issue with the Dark Green/Yellow (DG/YE) wire which runs between the FPDM and PCM pin 40 due to a poor crimp. If all of these items check to be ok, perform normal diagnostics for code P1233.
