Noticed that my Maruti 800 does only 10km per petrol ltr, which is very low for a Maruti 800. Also the engine sound is not smooth. How can I get these fixed?

if it is fuel injected ,have the injectors cleaned. check the fuel pressure as if it is too low then you have to have the throttle setting to wide to get power.

My saturn astra xr is consuming more gas then before, right now it takes 43L last me for 350 km.what the problem with that ?

Reasons for increase in fuel consumption include a fault in the fuel pressure in the manifold, cpu keeping the fuel rich for too lomg Water/ air tem sensors. Brake drag -Brakes staying on slightly.tyre pressure too low blocked exhaust system cat converter clooapsed and blocking exhaust pipe. faulty oxygen sensor. driving in too low a gear for too loong Faulty auto tranny not changing at the right time. Considerwhen the consumption went up and try to remember if something happened that at the time seemed incindental as this may help pinpoint the fault

2001 E220 CDI exhaust tail pipe black smoke on acceleration

Black smoke is almost always an indication that the air/ fuel mix (ratio), is too rich. I would try to find out if the just cleaned the injectors or were they replaced. Cleaning injectors and sometimes leave irregularly shaped orifices. Besure the air filter is clean. This can effect mix also.
Good Luck and hope this helps.

the oil consumption could be worn piston rings or the egr is clogged and forcing oil into the air intake but that new of a car its unlikely unless someone sugared the gas tank the sooty exhaust could be from the oil consumption
