Testimonial: "If you have a 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria, and your headlights and or tail lights don't work, Ford just finally extended the warranty on your LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free - both parts and labor and will install a new one for free! Ford has extended the warranty to 15 years/250,000 miles.  This is NOT a recall. Your headlights must be inoperable in order to get a new LCM on this new extended warranty. It must be done at a Ford Dealer and the fix is free.  Call your local ford Dealer and tell them you need to make  an appointment because your headlights don't work and Ford has extended your warranty on the LCM.  Tell them it is the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01.  Have your car's Vin number ready as they will ask for it.  You don't have to be the original owner.  If they act like they don't know what you are talking about ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them, or you can call Ford yourself.  We had ours done at a Ford dealer in August of 2014 in Scottsdale, AZ.   It is a 15 year warranty and if  you have a 1999, the deadline might have passed, but call them and ask them to see if it has.  Maybe it hasn't."

SOURCE: crown victoria window motor replacement

remove the door panel. be very careful and make sure you get all the screws out. Should be maybe 2 on the bottom half of the door, and 2 on the top half. one is right by the handle, which is the one i forgot the first time i took my door pannel off. carefully pull the panel upward, and outward at the same time. Once the panel is off, disconnect the controls, and remove the light from the panel. Remove the plastic cover very carefully, it will tear, just keeps noise, and air, and the elements out.
There will be 3 screws, they are torx bolts, once you pull those 3 out. They are located middle of the door towards the right side. The motor will drop down a little bit. disconnect the wires for the motor, and wiggle the motor off of the regulator. the crown vics have a decent size hole to get into the door panel, you can also remove the speaker if that would help you do it. other than that, it just lining up the new motor into the car, pushing it into the regulator, and putting the 3 bolts in, make sure they are snug, and not cross threaded. put everything back together, and your set.

96 crown Victoria lights flickering on and off

This problem is caused by a heat damaged headlight switch and the connector to it, replace both parts, the connector is available as a repair part as well as the switch. When you replace the connector (A MUST DO!) SOLDER IT ON, NO SPLICE CONNECTORS! Shrink tube the connections. If you don't replace both parts then the new switch will quickly fail again and back to blinking headlights.

Headlights go off but signal and tail lights stay on.

The lighting control module is defective and needs to be replaced...A well known defect. I know. I just researched this and replaced mine due to headlight outages. There is extensive information on the web regarding this dangerous defect. The NHTSA conduvcted an investigation and closed it.......No recall on the defective part. You wanna drive your Crown Victoria 2003-2005 at night?..........Pay money and replace the LCM.
