98 izzu hombre 4.3 battery went dead after a jump it wont start how to fix

The jump start may have blown you alternator or voltage regulator. If so, you have an inactive charging system. You must have a good battery for this to work, Disconnect the positive cable to the battery. Use a battery charger to slow charge your battery. When the battery is fully charged, reattach the positive cable and try to start your engine. If it starts take the truck to a shop or auto zone to have the charging system checked. Fix what is needed.
Any time a vehicle is jump started, do so with the hot battery car not running and its ignition off. If it is running and your car starts one or both charging systems are usually damaged. There may not be damage if it is GM to GM or Ford to Ford, etc., but to be safe, do not let both cars run at the same time when connected.

Fuel pump not working

GM doesn't use a fuel pump reset button, that is Ford and Mazda (owned by Ford). GM pumps are protected by a low oil pressure cutoff switch o the engine near the oil filter (most GM engines used in this model)..

Charging system test: diode open

I agree with youngauto. A good diode only lets current travel in one direction. An open diode carries zero current in either direction. Some diodes are easy to replace such as most 70, 80 and 90s GM Products. Others like a Ford product and a lot of imports are pressed in and require either a press or a C clamp. Unless you feel venturesome your best bet would be to have the alternator rebuilt or just buy another one.

83 f250 I can get it started and it runs great for about a half hour or so and then quits. If I jump it it will start up, if I let it sit for awhile it will start up. I have replaced most electrical parts....

sounds like the rectifier in your alt is faulty if you take the alternator to a shop they can load test it for you most auto electric places test alternators and will do so for free if you just bring them the alternator in hand failing that i sounds like a power problem and if i were a betting man i would toss that alt in the can grab a single wire gm alternater and slap it in and save my self the head ache in the future

How to remove alternator black plug conector from 1998 Toyota Tercel

If this is the same alternator used in GM light sedans (Toyota and GM generally get their alternators from the same supplier), then the connector goes into a T-shaped slot in the alternator housing. The connector has a latch with a step that catches in the leg of the T. You have to squeeze the latch in towards the bar of the T (against the main part of the connector shell) and hold it there while you pull the connector. DO NOT pull on the wires!

Trying to locate the voltage regulator on a 1988 dodge half ton pickup

It should be INSIDE of the ECM inside of the driver's side fender. I had a 90 Dodge Ramcharger and had to modify a GM alternator (change the pulley, make a spacer) and run it for a year until I found the correct ECM. The GM alternator has an internal regulator so it'll bypass the faulty circuit in the ECM. Bolt the main power lead (from your harness/alt "plug" to the back of the GM alt where it's supposed to go. Tape off the 2 exposed leads on your harness, and jumper the Gm terminal from one to the other (make sure it's a 2 prong older GM alt). Other than that, you'll have to locate an ECM. Try Car-Part.com. I wish I could have helped more. If I have, please rate my assistance and leave a testimonial to assist others with a similar problem to locate this information, Thanks and Happy Holidays.

I purchased an alternator from e bay advertised as late model gm. it looks like gm but has no screw on the back to attach ahe battery wire. it has a connector with three large pins in it. the other...

From what you are describing, it sounds very similar to a late model ford alternator that were made through the 90's, and it sounds like the type that ford used in the F-350's and larger trucks.

2 Dashboard lights have come on 1 check engine

well if the battery light came on that means your alternator is not charging the battery,,you need a new alternator,,,and maybe a new battery if it killed it,,,,that set the check engine light on,,,,,for it not charging,,,,,do not buy a aftermarket alt,,,,only saturn/gm,,as they do not meet gm/saturn specs and you will install it and still have a battery light on,,,,,,you need a factory alternator,,,yes it costs more, but unless you feel like putting a few in and out to find this out,,,,,
