Does smart key need to be re-programmed after battery replacement?

why not buy a new fob/key
and use that. old fobs are no good , all worn out.
the glove box users guide tells how to make a new key/fob
is this car a IMMO keyed car,? if yes the rules are strict.
is the only problems is door lock buttons.????
14 year old fobs are mostly pure junk now, all worn out.
why use it?
in fact have 2 of all that. one to use and 1 as backup
most cars sold new had 2 keys, lost the spare?
what ever you do if IMMO car, do not have one IMMO key
have 2 or more, or the costs to sure that are HUGE.

By replacing the battery , the CPU program becomes corrupted and some items including immobiliser and your items will not function properly until a scanner is used to reset the CPU program. IT will only take a few minutes to see if it works.

have it taken to a dealer for a two new keys and re-programming the immobilisor ,what happend to the spare key anyway ?? you should always have a spare key for just such an emergency

Yes, the battery can be the culprit, and it is easily changed.

Remove the metal key from the side of the smart key, and then split the casing of the smart key, via the slot. There is a small circular battery that you can remove and replace. Use the exact same battery.

No Re-programming is necessary. The smart key frequency is coded to the car. Changing the battery does not change the frequency.

Most probably you have a synchronization problem between key and the car.As signal is received since the signals are flashing , but security is not responding.
First , if you have a spare key , try it and see if that works. If not you need to reprogram the keys again. You can do that at any authorized Smart service center and it should not take much time to do it. Good luck

The battery in your remote key fob can be changed.But the spare key has to be programed to work.Take your main key to the dealers And have them do it for you.
