90 degrees is 194 F and 95 degrees c is 205 F .Regardless of the ambient temperature the thermostat will not open and permit coolant flow through the radiator until the minimum operating temperature is reached ( normally 85 degrees c or 185F)

Normal temperature is around 90 degrees c. Depending on the radiator size and operating conditions it may go to 95 degrees c

SOURCE: 2000 F250 super duty v10

check the vaccum hoses on the passenger side under hood. I think that there are two hoses but it might be three. they get brittle and leak. but they move a little valve that you can move yourself just to see if heat works then. it is inline with the heater hoses I think. Bear with me though because it has been about 3-4 years ago when I figured this one out. it is definately a vaccum problem. there is also a set of vaccum hoses under passenger side of dash, several colors in it. might want to look there because sometimes kicked by peoples feet but money is on the ones inline with heater core. just move linkage and see if it gets hot air. Hope I helped and didnt confuse.

SOURCE: Normal coolant temp for 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee city/highway V6

U should have the accuracy of the gauge tested before u spend any more money on this, factory gauges are not very accurate. U are still in the normal zone though no matter what the other expert says, and jeep Cherokee's run hotter than 195 due to how small the engine bay is, my friend and fellow tech works for a jeep dealer and says hot running on V6's and overheating esp on the V8's is a common issue even on new trucks.

Look for a loose connection to the temperature sender unit on the motor.
If all connections OK, you may need a new temp sender unit.

A diagram of the flushing of a radiator and block of a chevrolet blazer LS 2000

Theres no such thing as a diagram, here are the draining instructions, hope this helps...
  • 1-Place a large drain pan beneath the radiator drain plug. The drain plug is located on the passenger side at the very bottom of the radiator on the engine side.

  • 2-Make sure the engine is cool. Open the hood of the truck and remove the radiator cap.
  • 3-Loosen the drain plug. On the 2000 Blazer, the drain plug is a wing-nut type of plug. Twist it with your fingers until the coolant begins to drain.

  • *To flush the block, once you have drained the radiator, run the engine for a bit untill the temp gauge goes up to normal, then the coolant will have been evacuated from the block. DO NOT leave the engine on, once it reaches normal temp, (this will happen quick) turn off right away, otherwise you'll be forking out a few hundred $$$ to fix the worped heads.
4-Tighten the drain plug with your fingers once the coolant has drained fully from the radiator. Remove the drain pan and dispose of the used coolant properly.
Some service stations will take and recycle your used coolant.
    Hope this helps...

The water doesn't go into the heater core on a 2002 chevy blazer. How do i fix?

Hello, You need to replace the water thermostat located off of the upper radiator hose where it connects to the engine block, it is held down by 2 bolts. You will need new coolant (change the coolant while you are at it), a new gasket, and a new thermostat. Your thermostat is not opening anymore so the coolant is not flowing into the engine and heater core probably causing higher than normal temperatures. Good Luck! Rich L.

    2) Per your description I would look at the ECT sending unit. It sends coolant temperature information the the Engine Control Module for proper fuel delivery for cold engine start. It may have lost its calibration.
