did you drop the pan replace the filter and add four to five quarts,If still a problem try doing a full transmission flush at a quick lube.
A transmission flush with Lucas trans tune up will probably fix your non shift issue, try this first before looking into a new tranny !

I change mine on level ground or driveway. I don't jack up the car. Before beginning, turn your front wheels all the way to the right. Put a pan under the filter area. The filter is on the right side of the engine and can be accessed by reaching into the right wheel well (with the right front wheel already turned to the right.) You may need a strap wrench or an oil filter wrench to loosen the filter. Once you get it loose, you can spin it off by hand. Expect about 1/4 cup of oil to spill all over the filter and drip off into the drain pan. Clean up the mess with paper towels. Wet the gasket of the new filter with clean oil and spin it on. After the filter gasket makes contact with its seat, hand tighten the new filter one full turn.

Have it scanned. Have the person who scans it pay particular attention to the Transmission temp sensor. If the Transmission temp sensor tells the ecm the transmission is cold, it won't shift to 4th. Also if it thinks the transmission is too hot it won't allow a 3-4 shift.
