The used ignition module you installed may also be bad, or there may be a problem with the distributor causing the ignition units to malfunction, such as a cracked cap, worn rotor or bad coil wire. Try replacing the cap, rotor and coil wire then check for any additional ECU codes.

I replaced fuses now it wont start theft light blinking

Try using the doorkey and then turning the ignition key to start it within 10 seconds. If this does not work, then try using the keyless entry code to unlock the doors(run your window down first to avoid a lockout) and turn the ignition key to start it within 10 seconds.

There is a chassis wiring diagram and fusebox layout available free at Autozone.com when you register for free. The source of the bad fuse will tell you what area to fix.

If all else fails, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect. Try to start it again.

When hooking up both battery post the starter turns over without turning over the ignition switch

You either have a faulty Solenoid or short or what I would check first is the ignition switch. Pull the ignition switch off and then connect the Battery, if the problem repeats then you have a short you need to look for, if it doesn't you will have to replace the ignition switch. There is a slim chance that this is a relay problem in the power Distribution box with a relay being stuck open but again, remove the ignition relay and see if the problem persist, if it doesn't replace the relay and you should be fixed. I would start with the ignition switch though.

How do I get my key remote to lock/unlock my toyota rav4 2002 model? I changed the battery because I thought that was the problem but it is still not working. The red light on the remote comes on but then...

You will need to try reprogramming the remote 1st, below is the complete procedure. If the reprogram doesn't restore function then you will need the dealer to test the keyless entry system, you may have a bad module or remote (only applies if both remotes don't work).

Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and
drivers door is unlocked.

2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.

3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.

4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Close the drivers door
D. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
F. Remove the key from the ignition.

5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically
indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.

6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1.5 seconds.
B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,
Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door
locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If
the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote was
not accepted.
C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote.

7. Open drivers door.

Fitting new ignition barrel series 3 1996 316i

It is a very small hole in the switch cylinder. About the size of a paperclip or maybe a bit thicker. It is to reset the ignition. If that does not work. you may have to replace the switch. try using aa paperclip or someting to push into the hole. Being vcareful not to force it too much. So it won't break inside.
