I need advice ASAP! My son bought a 2006 Envoy on Tuesday from a private party. We had it looked at by 2 different mechanics. The engine blew on Wednesday. Any ideas to help get money back?

You would have to sue in small claims court and you would have to prove that the seller knew that it was defective and did not disclose that at the time of sell. Most used cars are deemed by law to be where is as is and buyer beware.

I just bought a 2004 Buick Rendezvous from a private party. The seller said the A/C wasn't reconnected after some work was done....any suggestions on how I can "reconnect" it? When the switch is turned on...

There is nothing you can do in that case

Your going to need a lot of work done at
a shop that does A/C work

When an a/c system is left open to the air, it
pretty much is ruined from the chemical reaction
to air entering, may have to replace many components

I am going to buy a Honda Accord V6 40 Luxury 2003 model from a private seller and I was wondering what are some problems I should look out for just in case. Especially because they are selling it to me...

BEFORE buying car, ask seller if you can have an independent shop do a "pre sale inspection". If seller says NO, then pass on it. Hondas are good cars, but when sold cheap - I suspect problems. If seller says yes, then have a competent shop inspect it. It might cost a few $$ for inspection but it's cheap insurance.

Hiy, I have just purchased a 1999 Kia sportage off a private seller and the air conditioning on the passengers side is extremely noisy. Do i need to get this looked at or is it just because its an old car?

Check the seal on the windshield. If it is not properly sealed it will allow water to get into your blower motor which will make it very noisy. Look everything over and see if you can see where water might be getting in. Seal it up with an automotive grade silicone. Remove the blower motor and oil it up really good. If that does not work get on ebay and order a replacement.

Please help....i sold my car to this lady after she checked it out, drove it, took my vin# & said she'd bring her mechanic but didnt. Now she's saying she wants her money back or legal action because i...

Always sell the car with a bill of sale and write as is. You keep a copy for **** like this. A light on will cause it to fail an inspection and you probably know that. Buying Used From a Private Seller Private sellers often charge less for used cars than dealers, but they rarely offer any type of after sale warranty. If a problem arises with the car, your only recourse may be a lawsuit. Take precautions and inspect the vehicle completely. Ask the seller why they are selling the car. Ask where the car has been serviced and if there are any records that you can review. Ask if the car has passed inspection in the current year. Inspect the title to make sure you are dealing with the owner of the vehicle.

Low beams do not work and bought the car with a salvage title and the dmv wantsa lights and brakes inspection to registar it. Any suggestions?

If you bought it from a used car dealer, it is their responsibility. If you bought it from a private party, it's probably on you. Say hello to your credit card or checkbook...

You still have to have the inspection, but check the fuses for the low-beams. They are separate from the high-beams

However, if the DMV says "you need this to register it", you need it to register it. They are probably going to ask for a safety inspection, as well. If you didn't make arrangements with the seller, then it's your problem. There are no "lemon laws" to protect you with private party used car sales.

No air or heat blowing from vents

if the fan is blowing this could be a problem with the climate controll switch that changes the direction of air from floor to defrost to vents, some are vacuum controlled through a vacuum operated mechanism that opens and closes a door in the vents which redirects the air to different places.

Buying a used rx 300

they range from 12,000 to around 18,000 depending on the features and if your buying it off of a private seller. You can gauge it yourself by the condition of everything but with those miles and if its pretty nicley loaded then im gonna say around the 15,000 mark would be ideal. Please give me a rating if this helps you.
