Hi,my 07' Barina,the fan in the dash has stopped working I put it on 1,2,3or4 and nothing.on 4 I hear a click coming from drivers side fuse box fuses are fine,is the fan blower motor burned out?

not normally

the fan motor has a resistor
that part give you the different speeds
they fail and can be replaced

location not far from the blower motor

05 Audi A6 won't start if it sits in the cold all night

Turn the key to on position, then press brake shift out of park and cycle through reverse ,neutral, drive, etc....then place it back in park.try to tap it as far forward to make sure it is in park so that the sensor is reading it is in park.try to start vehicle.....if it starts,,,then it is your neutral safety switch. I have seen this in the past.

Hello, I have a 2001 F350, 7.3l diesel. Saturday when leaving the house my ac fan did not start workign right awa and then came on. I drove for 10 minutes and stopped for 3, when i turend the truck back on...

When the fan is not working, does it not work in all speeds or does it only work on high speed? If high speed is all you have, the fan resistor is a likely culprit. If you have no fan operation at any speed, leave the switch on high (with the ignition key in the run position, of course), and smack the fan with a rubber mallet. If it starts working, the fan motor is on its way out and will need to be replaced.

My side by side Frigidaire refrigerator that is only 4 months old makes this tone( sounds like a dial tone). It gets quite loud and the fan on the freezer side has already been replaced once.

Sonds like the fan bushings are bad, are you sure the servicer replaced the fan and motor assembly or did he just lube it up and say it was replaced, now that the lube has worn off, is it back to the same problem as before they replaced (?) the fan.It may need to be replaced! It's still under factory warranty so use the warranty coverage, you paid for it! Good luck !

My 96 accord had the same prob. if you don't have a leak you need to make sure
of that first if no leak and not over charged ( my 96 accord holds 22.9 ounces of 134 )
anyway the fan on left side of motor was bad I replaced it and it works great.

1990 thunderbird heater

do you mean the FAN, could be the switch controling the fan. try that first, pulling the fan motor and heater core will be a pain.

Blower Motor problem

Hi,

Sorry but most that I can give would be generic as Pontiac Grand Prix are not that common in my country. I am assuming you are referring to the fan/blowers of the A/C unit.

Based on your description and from what little I know of the circuitry/wiring of current blowers:
1. the clicking sound would be a relay engaging and therefore the speed selector switch could be assumed to be operational since it can trigger the relay;
2. the day time running lights and auto night lights turning off when engaging the fan switch indicates possibly a common supply problem. This could be a wire or terminal in the fuse block. This common B+12 supply logically would be split into several including the fan blower fuse and the lights fuse. It is also possible that said terminal is corroded or has scorched marks preventing full flow of current or be disconnected intermittently;
3. since you have changed the resistor (presumably known and tested to be good) then the problem lies elsewhere possibly back to #2 above;
4. I would discount any ignition problem as it would be more engine related and has nothing to do with the fan/blower except that it share a common IGN B+12 which again points back to possibly #2; and
5. Though am not sure, but I think your car has also a blower motor control processor which also could be at fault.

I believe your best option would be to use a DVM to check for the presence of B+ supply to the fan motor while going through the switch settings (1 to 5). Thereafter trace back until you reach the resistor and its input of +12, go further back and trace it to the fuse holder and eventually to the common supply. You would have three (3) B+12, a) always ON; b) IGN ON; and blower switch ON.

Would appreciate a post back for any developments or results of your voltage checks.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Again, pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
