How do you remove intake manifold body

no vehicle type,so I will be general.start by taking pictures of engine, this way you can put it back together, right.then mark all the hoses and electrical lines with pieces of tape so you can match them back up were they go,mark both sides of the lines at the disconnection points, take notes too..then start at the top and work your way down removing everything that is in your way.if you have any doubts take more pics so u can reference them on the reinstall.get new gaskets were needed,do not use old gaskets or you will create problems you don't want. u should have several bolts on both sides of the manifold make sure you torque to the right specs on reinstall, you find the specs on line just type in exactly what you want <torque specs, list make and model, and year, for manifold>.hope this helped

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ECU COD INTAKE VACUM LEAK WHAT IS MOST COM PROBLEM WITH THE 2.5 AND VACUM LEAK

Hello...

I am not sure about your exact car. Im sorry, but I dont know EVERYTHING. However most vac leaks are caused by a hose. If not the hose then by a loose intake manifold, or bad manifold gasket. Sometimes the manifold itself can crack.

The EASIEST way I have found to run down a vac leak is to buy a can of SPRAY carb cleaner, most autoparts stores have this stuff. With the engine running spray the carb cleaner near suspected leak sites. The ends of hoses, down along the intake gaskets, pretty much anywhere air can go. When you find the leak your engine will SPUTTER. Sometimes it will even die. Carb cleaner doesnt burn that great apparantly and when it gets SUCKED IN to the fuel air mix it throws it off.

Once you find the site of your leak the fixes are pretty easy. From what I have read recently alot of people seem to be getting away with just tightening bolts this winter. I dont know if the sudden change in temp or just everyones cars seem to be about the same age.

Anyhow thats how I find intake leaks.

I hope this helps

99 mercury sable automatic trans vehicle idles very low randomly even stalls out sometimes high idle occurs as well reaches about 4000 rpm at times. engine light threw 4 codes, all to do with o2 sensors...

Sounds like a broken or torn vacum hose, pcv valve clogged, or bad Idle air control motor. Did you spray carb cleaner on vacum hoses or near the plastic intake., and did the motor rev up or down? Those codes represent a lean condition which means most like a vacum leak or clogged idle air motor. Sometimes the intake manifolds crack or the intake manifold gaskets crack. FInd that vacum leak or inpect iac motor

I have antifreeze in oil pan & cylinder in my 1989 Lincoln Towncar

Hi:
The most likely cause of this is a leaking head gasket or intake gasket. Depending on how much cash you want to put into this car, the best plan of repair is to replace both head gaskets, and when you do this, the intake gaskets get changed as well. You can have the heads cleaned and checked while they are off the car.

Egine chugs intermitently

sounds like it might be a vacuum problem check all the vacuum hoses and spray some wd40 around the base of the carburetor while idling. if the engine revs up then you have a carburetor base gasket problem or a leaking vacuum hose
