Where abouts on the underside were the wires hanging down? Auto box, axle lock operation, etc. Try a wiring diagram when you know approx. where and you know the colours already?

I recommend that you tighten the ground wire screw for starters. since the vehicle is ten years old corrosion may be the culprit.

Unless you have torches, take it to a garage, if you screw up the threads you are looking at a new pipe, if it is the front sensor it will be ahead of the cat converter,on some models you can open the hood and look down at the exhaust and see it right will also need a speacial socket to remove this or if you are sure, you can cut the wires and use a 7/8" box end wrench.Your car is 14yrs old so don't ecpect it to "turn right out"

It looks as if you have a dead short in the alternator. Check that the insulators around the terminal are not broken or that the fibre washer under the nut that holds the terminal in place (the nut under the lead that allows you to tighten the outside nut up on) is not allowing the wire to touch the alternator housing If that is all ok maybe you need a replacement alternator

1999 GMC Yukon, Do I need to replace the stop light switch if my brake lights only come on when I push the pedal real hard to the floor. I have already replaced the brakes and did a new brake booster. Is...

Sounds like you are on the right road with the switch. Before I bought a new switch I would locate the switch, it will come in direct contact with the brake pedal arm, and see if there is an adjustment or if it has moved for some odd reason. Sometimes things just happen.

I need to hook up a trailer brake controller on my 2008 GMC Yukon XL where do I find the wiring under the dash to hook up the controller?

Look in your users manual that came with you Yukon. If it has provisions, you should be able to locate this wire harness just below steering column or alittle to the right.(they at least give you room to get in so you dont hit your knees, where they usually mt. it.) Good luck, best regards.

There is a connector to disconnect . Yes it should be at "0". The connector is near the blower motor above the front passengers feet area. I think its a single wire connector with a tan wire

95 jetta wont start unless you pop start it i changed the starter i have all the power just when i turn the key nothing

check your fuses under the hood and under the dash
check polarity of battery (if you unhooked booth leads)
is the battery any good?
you probly conected the leads to the starter incorectly (recheck them)

(the following asume your tur n key ignition system is functioning properly)
to test your tur n key system simply hook up a test light to the small lead running to the starter cylynoid "while the wire is disconected" and have a friend turn the ignition over. [dont furget to test the test light first lol]

or even got the wrong starter completly (usaly a store problem)
did you " bench test" the new/used starter befor installing it ?
iv goten brand new starters doa

is the ground strap hooked up ? is there corosian on the battery posts or any of the high amperage conections?

is the cylynoid on the starter or somewhere else under the hood?
cautiously try to bypass the cylynoid ie run a hot wire to the small lead on the cylynoid
(this can usaly be done by jumping from the main red wire on the starter to the hot lead of the cylynoid)

notes: when bypassing the ingnition system (jumping the cylynoid)
DO NOT have the ignition in the on postion and it is best to remove the lead from the cylynoid (incase of a short in the wire's some place)

if nothing remove the large red wire on the cylynoid and touch it directly to the starter lead itself (there will be a fair amount of spark when doing this its normal) but make shur you are conecting to the starter lead and not a gound point as this will cause exsesive sparking that isn't good
dose the starter tur n the engine over
back track untill you find the fault be it starter itself, cyclynoid, wiring, blown fuse, corosion, bad battery,

still cant find the problem take it to a shop!
hope i helped yah

Fuel guage is not working on my 95 GMC Yukon it points past the full mark and it started when my fuel pump was replaced.

BINGO ! ! The fuel indicator mechanism is IN the fuel pump assembly (in the gas tank). Apparently the mechanic that did the work did NOT hook up the wiring harness OR the float is jammed. Go back to who ever did the work and COMPLAIN.

Reverse lights dont work

follow the wire from the reverse lite and it should lead to the transmission somewhere along that wire you will most likely find that the wire is broken or corroded off. also check the groung wire that it is grounded properly in the reerse lite itself.
