Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
I inherited this car from my sister-in-law and it had only 52,000 miles on it. When I tried to open the trunk using either of the two trunk release buttons, it starts the car! I bet nobody has ever heard of this problem. And they do not open the trunk. When you start the car that way, the key will not turn it off. You have to push the trunk release button again.
Seems to me the auto start and your factory key fob have the same freq. if it is a factory remote start there is something crossed somewhere. You should be able to find a disconnect switch for your remote start somewhere( in fuse box area or underneath the dash) once found follow the wire to the remote start receiver. Visually check wires and try and get a make and model number of the remote starter. Google the wiring diagram for that type of RS.
