Seat Leon boot lid will not lock

I had this with mine .. You need a new lock fitted , they are electronic and like anything else they break . I managed to get the plastic back panel of the boot lid and get a small ratchet strap from there to the lashing points inside the boot to keep it shut..

Boot lid open message. How i swich of message

Close the boot lid.....
No, seriously now. It will probably be the sensor that is at fault. Don't know where yours will be. It could be in the lid lock, around the lid or lip of the boot where the lid fits to the boot opening normally under a rubber cover. You may be able to fool the car into thinking it is shut by bypassing the switch. Disconnect the wires to the switch (when you find it) and either leave the 2 wires disconnected (for a switch that is activated by the circuit being open) or connect the 2 wires together (for a switch that is activated by being closed). Try it without connecting together first and if this doesn't work then try connecting them together. Once you find the correct way then wrap in insulation tape to prevent any shorting out.
Remember though that this will mean that if you drive with the boot open you will get no indication on the dashboard. Also your boot light may not now work.

Can boot become stretched?

use a round bar ( philips screw drive) , place it under the latch tongue and while opening the latch pull the bar out as if opening the boot
most likely that the latch is in the first lock position

i suspect that the rubber boot from body to boot lid has a damaged wire inside and its picking up a feed from the boot lock

My trunk will not open on my wife's 2001 slk Mercedes. It's not locked. I think something is stuck in the lock. Can you help me?

your can check is it something stuck in the lock, first operate your roof either way, if you are going to open the roof as a first action boot lid will open to backward, let boot lid fully open and stop operating the roof, ignition off and have a look if something stuck you can see, if you are going to close the roof let close the roof and before close the boot lid stop operating roof switch, otherwise faulty boot lid lock, if faulty lock but you can try by mettle key blade which is in your electronic key, first take out mettle key from electronic key then insert mettle key in to the key hole in boot lid turn fully left and open boot if not work turn fully left and push it in, is this information helped you?

Can't get at interior of boot lid lock to fix broken lock.

There should be a very small lever on the lock reciever assembly , it's a left over from the manual cable on previous models ,It will slide in a slotted groove , but will still be present on the lock housing. Entry from rear passanger seating and a good torch a bit of luck and patience .

Long load, can't shut hatch, constant beeping.

Hi the only way of doing this is you know the catch on the lid that locks onto the boot floor when you shut the boot. Well if you use a screw driver and push the lock round as though the latch would when you shut the hatch.
I mean on the hatch not the bottom bit onthe car you can see on the hatch what locks onto the boot floor if you use a screw driver as if it was the lock itself then you can turn the catch so the hatch thinks its locked.
It sounds a bit confusing but hopefully you understand what im saying you can move it round with your finger also.

But remember when you have took the wood out to press the unlock boot button to reset the lock on the hatch not doing this will damage the mechanism on the hatch and will then need replacing.

Let me know if you need further assistance ok

Boot lid will not open except by use of key

Removed lock solenoid actuator and tested off vehicle, cleaned up terminals and pulled some fuses and relays cleaning wherever I thought necessary, also cleaned locking rod at filler cap with maintenance spray and lubricated mechanism inside boot underneath filler area. Both items now working but still not sure what the cause was.Suspect dirty terminals but these were not readily apparent

Unlocking Boot lid

I am assuming your problem is similar to mine; the key fob isn't dead, but for some reason the boot won't release.  This happens rarely, but can be very frustrating (and embarrassing)!

When neither the key fob nor the release on the boot work, lock and unlock the car, and insert the key into the ignition.  Turn the key to the second stage, i.e. the accessories are powered, and then remove the key.  This ought to allow you to use the fob again.
