A rattle from an electrical appliance indicates a loose electrical component The vibration is caused by the cycles of the power in use. (hum from a fluro light) have an accredited electrician check it out as it may be serious.

I have a toyota hilux 3.0 kzte 2002 model its started having a rattling sound from the engine , smoking and no power.

It may have a bad injector ,leaking fuel into the cylinder if its not a fine spray that cylinder can't fire. to check crack open one injector fuel line at a time ,the rattle will stop when the faulty injector fuel line is cracked open.

What best position timing mark fly wheel plate land criuser 3fe engine to re install distributor

If it rattles, timing is too far advanced.Loosen the distributor bolt,Back timing to fastest idle, and advance it just a little to where the idle is changing slower. Not much tho.Lock the distributor bolt and drive it.If still rattles,do it again till it doesn't rattle. The rattle you speak of is called engine nock, because it's firing ahead of time too much.

Rattling sound during it ok to use 95 octane gas instead of 91 mybe the rattling sounds will disappear??

that would be an option-but you have a deeper problem that could destroy your motor-your engine rattle may be the timing chain for the valvesor it could be detonation which is the cylinders are firing just a little too earlybefore the piston reaches tdc -there should be a sensor that stop this from happening -take the car to a shop before you have a totally blown motor-Denny

Trouble starting but once started runs decent for most part sounds like it misses a lil but at idle back fires a lil bit and catalytic converter is making a rattling type noise

Rattle is cat shield shaking because the engine is running rough.start with the obvious replace the sparkplugs, but problem is probably the EGR valve stuck open, buy one then look on the engine to find like part ,got mine @ orielys

Kia has a rotten smell and it shakes and engine light comes on

Usually the smell is fuel related if it is coming out of the tail pipe.
And the shake/rattle is a miss fire.
I would start with getting the computer scanned for trouble codes.
The codes will direct you or a mechanic on what to test.

Rattling noise during start up. I turn the key and there is a loud rattle noise when the car first fires up. When the car fires up it sounds like I have my foot on the accelerator as it revs up at first...

check your starter and see if it is loose, this will cause it (starter) to use more amperage to start which leaves less amperage for the rest of the electrical system (maybe the long start problem too), hope this helps, let me know

My 99 Mazda Astina 323 (auto transmission) started making a rattling noise yesterday... went to my mechanic this morning and he said it was the timing belt. couldnt leave the car with him so drove home and...

have you thought about looking at the starter clutch, its possible that you need to have it replaced or a that the needs to be rebored, since it could be that your piston is what is knocking.
