Sounds like a bad fuel pump....get some parts cleaner spray and have a friend spray it into the air horn while you crank the eng if it starts for a second or two while he continues to spray then your fuel pump is bad you need to replace it...or if you dont want to try that bang on the fuel tank under neath the car with a rubber hammer hard while someone trys to start the car ...block your wheels just in case

Chevy Trucks, Blazers, S10 pickup and the like will vapor lock ecspecially the 2000 models. Do not tighten the gas cap past 1 click. There is a tube that runs from the top of the tank down and this gets hot and collapses or burns in half. We just bought a reinforced rubber tube cut it to lengh and use it instead of part and it's worked grat for 2 years so far.

Popping noises

This is normally a sign of a leaking exhaust valve, it is too tight. the popping is unburned fuel leaking into the exhaust and then exploding with the exhaust from the next firing, sorry but a big job

It still could be the fuel pump. Sometimes they don't just quit outright. Go to the vehicle. Reach through the open driver's side window. Turn the key forward to the run position. Listen toward the rear of the vehicle for the fuel pump to prime. It should sound like a humming noise that should last a couple seconds and stop. If you don't hear anything it's your fuel pump.

My 2003 Hyundai Elantra Starts by then Dies, as though it's not getting gas.

No! If you can start it right back up I seriously doubt it but you do ablsolutely need to change fuel filters every 15,000 miles and forget about oil changes they do nothing for the car. But a plugged fuel filter will kill a fuel pump and average cost of a gob like that here in Seattle is around $500-700.
But you need to find that leak and fix it you can be loosing enough fuel pressure through that leak to cause a problem like yours.
Please rate me as a fixya! Thank you Randy
