It should be near the bottom of the moter, and there should be a wire coming from your battery to it .and it should be facing the transmission,.

If u have located the starter. The bolts will not be on the bottom of the starter. They will be on the front. And u will probably have to take the passenger wheel off to get the top one off . That starter has 3 bolts at 11, 7, and 5.

It is located at the back of the engine near the fire wall. It is gray with a T connector at the top with two hoses coming off of the T and going forward into the intake manifold.

If your going to be removing all of this I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on the vehicle so you have the illustrations and directions for dis-assembly and assembly of the starter. The starter should be located on the bottom right of the engine where the Transmission attaches.

1993 ford explorer - toublshooting fuse/electical problem

I believe the fuse for your starter is in the power distribution box, 93 explorer 4.0L 4X4. find diagram for this in Chilton Ford Ranger/Explorer/Mountaineer 1991-1999 Repair Manual 26688 page 6-43 Fig.88 Be aware that there are (4) figures for the 93 4.0L explorer and each shows a different part of the same engine wiring. See top right 'power distribution box' follow lines to the part of your engine you are concerned with, which fuse number, then look inside your engine, passenger fender, push down on the protective ?wall then pull the cover up, see your diagram and fuse numbers. The diagram for inside fuse box, page 6-31 fig.63 I hope this helps
