Question about 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD
Its a 1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2 liter plug is stripped and cant remove it it just spins can anyone help??
Pain in the rear end. but it can be done. Remove the head. and pound it out. Use a helicoil the re thread the hole. If you have to do this, redo the heads, if it has above 170,000 miles , replace the engine. Not worth the head job. But if it were mine. I'd replace it if it had anything above 130,000 miles.

The combination fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator is used on all engines. It is located on the top of the fuel pump module. A separate frame mounted fuel filter is not used with any engine.
Both fuel filters (at bottom of fuel pump module and within fuel pressure regulator) are designed for extended service. They do not require normal scheduled maintenance.

These are special tools that are made just for that job,If you are going to do the water pump yourself, you can go to Autozone parts store and rent the tools,That way you won't be rounding anything off or doing further damage.
