Question about 2003 Ford Mustang
Hello . I have done some checking on this . The kit should have come with instructions . You might try to look up the manufacturer online and see if they have the wire diagram you will need to make it a little more easy . If you go to youtube and input under video search " Mirrors presented by Andy's Auto Sport " a video will come up that will show you basically what you need to do . Since your car was not equipped with turn signals in the mirrors you will have to run the wireing under the dash to just below your steering column . There you will have to find what wire runs the left turn and what wire runs the right turn and splice into them with the mirror that matches . Your mirror should have a power for light which will connect under dash and a ground which you will ground to the metal body of your car under the dash ( look for a bolt or nut that you could connect this to ) . i would use a multimeter to read each wires operation voltage before hooking up. ex. turn on turn signal, connect meter to find which wires is pulsing.
So your saying you wired the trailer yourself? yes you need the wires to both sides for brake and running. the runners have to be all connected, and the brake all connected, hot and neutral.

this function is preformed through the Body control module, this can be tested for faults by the dealer only.

yes... you'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you can access the bolts holding the mirror on and disconnect the wiring harness as well..

One wire is for the brake/directional filament and the other wire is for the tail light. The fixture should be grounded when it is attached to the bracket. To test which is which (the brown wire is USUALLY the ail light) make sure the fixture is grounded and touch a hot wire to each of the wires coming from the fixture. Watch to see which wire lights up the brighter filament and this is the brake/directional light. The dimmer filament if the tail light. Brakes lights and directional lights are both the same filament. Wen the brakes are applied, both lights are activated. When a direction light is turned on, it simply flashes the brake light filament.
