I would suggest taking it to a shop... however if you have the means there is a plug on the transmission that you remove and if fluid drips out it is good if no fluid then add. There is no dipstick

Where is the oil dipstick located?

Check your owner's manual. In my 2007 BMW X3 , there is no dipstick but the oil is checked electronically on the dashboard. I think it's kind of stupidly complex, but many people don't know how to open the hood, I guess!

My bmw x3 is smoking bad when sitting still and smells like an electrical fire

There are 2 things you can check. First check your o-rings in your transmission. If that's good check your converter.

How do I change the time on my 2007 BMW x3

The clock on the radio and on the dash are synchronized. There is an oil check button located between the odometer and speedometer. Press and hold the right button ( oil check ) for a few seconds. You will see the time flashing. Press the left button to adjust the time. You will find the instructions in your owners manual.

BMW X3 transmission

Hi. I would suggest having the transfer case motor actuator checked for a stripped gear. I usually remove the transfer motor actuator and take the cover off to inspect the plastic gear inside. If the gear is stripped, it can be replaced.

You might have transmission problem. It could be low fluid level or could be an internal transmission failure. I suggest you to have the fluid level checked for quality. Another thing you can try to reset your transmission. BMW transmission would help you to know about the transmission better.

Oil leak

it depends on where the leak is coming from.more info are required - include the Make, Model, Year of the vehicle, along with which engine is in it, if it's an automatic or manual transmission, and where the leak is coming from. Then people might be able to make a better guess as to what might be happening.
