SOURCE: 90 toyota pickup won't idle

It sounds as though your timing is off, just a little. Since you seem to be pretty handy, I won't bore you with the details, it should be easy for you to adjust it. If you don't know how... please contact me.

Hope that was helpful,

SOURCE: Hi hope you can assist.

In diesel engines when the engine starts blowing it means the engine is almost gone so it does when its overheated, your engine is eating mobil oil and will not cut off if its eating oil. your engine is bad now if you want to run it for a few days here is what you do

you should remove the blow overflow pipe from the intake side i.e which goes from the engine blow to the air intake side and hang it to the bottom of the engine it will blow out the blown oil into the air and your engine will cut off easy no problems but remember it will eat oil so keep it top up if bows up more oil put a plastic bottle at some place in the engine compartment and put the other end of the pipe in it when the bottle is filled in a day or two put it back in the engine and top up

or get the engine rebuilt do let me know when it works(
YES it sure works

Rev count for 2009 corolla pro. goes up when engine starts even when the car is not moving. Is that normal?

High idle indicates that the engine most likely has a vacuum leak. This could be due to many causes; cracked hose or hoses, bad gaskets..ect. Hard to say exactly without more info, but you can open the hood and inspect the vacuum lines for damage or cracks. It is a 2009, so it probably is not something major.

90 lincoln was running hot 3 yrs ago,and no heat just replaced head gasket, heads pass pressure test,no cracks in heads, head gasket was bad, still no heat, heater hoses hot, pressure test cooling system...

Have you even considered the heater core? Have the heater core checked/replaced. As for the top hose collapsing...that is not good. Have the entire system checked out by a qualified mechanic.

My celica T sport idles unevenly from 2000 to 2100 revs. either side of this it is relatively smooth. The problem seems less noticable from cold but 500yards down the road sees the problem return. Any...

Intake manifold gasket is the most common cause of un-even idle.

IAC (Idle air control) motor is a small motor that adjust the idle.
In a cold AM,start up the car and turn on headlght, high beam,ac and radio.

Look for the IAC to see does it back down the idle as you shut off one item as a time.

IAC can be lube and save.

Runs real lean and surges under throttle massive loss of power

if you have a vacuum guage handy hook it to your manifold and if your reading is under 15 hg then you have a manifold gasket leaking or you could just replace the gasket.

95 toyota 4runner running bad. can not figure it out.

Check the timing and compression of the engine. It sounds like you either have a blown head gasket or a the timing jumped.

The rev is going up & down on idle & when driving

have you checked your air inlet manifold for any leakages by spraying WD40 around each portall bolted to the cylinderhead gasket, check for vacuum air pipes deterioration.make sure the engine is running first ,then spray WD40 to check that the engine speed should sounds like your engine is haveing problems breathing due to heavy hydro carbons increasing./and your CO2% is dropping.
