OD light flashing

You'll need to have codes scanned to see just what it is that the TCM doesn't like.. there are many things that can set the O/D light to flashing. Without knowing the code, it's only guessing.

Generally, this happens with faulty wiring, wire loose or go to bad switch, but need to know is isn't any code there to confirm.

Keep us updated.

Check engine light on need to know where plug is to check what problem is

Extracting Fault Codes:
Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON and observe the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT should begin to flash a series of codes. The flashes will be long and short. The long flashes are the "tens" and the quicker flashes are the "ones" representing the numbers of each code. There will be a slightly longer pause separating each code from the next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.

Do i need a scanner to get codes out of 1995 monte carlo or can i do it with a code key or paper clip it has ob 1

1995 was a change over year some of the cars had obd I connectors and some had the obd II as far as i know you will need some type of code reader if you have the new style connector even though the system is still obd I commiucation . If it is the old style connnector you can jump it with a paper clip and read the codes from the flashing engine light , Just so you know you can have your car scaned for codes from most local parts stores for free.. but do not think this is a diagnose of the problem and let them just sell you a part .

My 1994 pontiac bonneville wont start and i dont know how to pull the codes without a tool, dont know which pins too cross

Jump the two pins in the upper left corner of the connector. Then turn on ignition ( dont crank car ) , codes are delivered in flashes and short and long pauses. First code will be 12 ( flash , short pause 2 flashes , long pause) it will repeat 3 times. Any codes stored will repeat 3 times each after that , the list of stored codes will end with another set of 12's.So a code 38 will be 3 flashes-short pause - 8 flashes.Good luck

Had a solution posted on here from zx2fast. using a paper clip on the diagnostic block?!. the srvice engine light did flash pause flash flash long pause-but no number codes came up. it just repeated it...

You have to count the flashes. It repeats each code three times. Those flashes are the number codes. All of the codes are two digits. One flash is '1', then short pause and two flashes would be '2'. Since the codes are two digits that is a code '12' and it repeats that code two more times and then starts with the next stored code. It always starts with a code '12' to let you know it is in diagnostic mode and the last code is always '12' to let you know it is done flashing codes.

Engine code

12 and 55. The 55 means end of code session, the 12 means no distributor reference. Both of these codes are normal with the engine not running, so do not go out and purchase a dstributor. Is there another problem with the vehicle, or did you just want to know the codes? Comment back to continue, thanks.

Engine will not start where is connection for finding diagnostic fault codes? are these flash codes when connected?

sounds like a fuel pressure problem. no flash codes for that year that will tell you anything. make sure the fuel pump is working.

Need to pull and reed trouble codes for a 1989 honda

there is a jumper wire on the passenger side kick panel, short this wire with a paper clip and turn your ignition to run, the CEL check engine light will flash the number of the trouble code,
long flashes = 10's
short flashes = 1's
so a code read like this
would be 35
there will be short pauses between flashes and a long pause between separate codes,
hope this helps

Overdrive light started flashing

the OD light is flashing to let u know a fault has occurred in the transmission electronic controls or that it is slipping plus other issues, go to Kragen or Autozone and ask them to run a trouble code test, it is free, post the code back here for me to look at.
