All of them are inside the transmission. And the no start could be the safety switch located on the transmission. Sounds like you have an electrical problem Instead of solenoids.

SOURCE: what transmission fluid can I use in my 1993 Mercedes Benz 190E

AF3 onepx.gif DEXRON®-III Automatic Transmission Fluid
BMW: Power steering use AF3; Models with combined power steering,
hydraulic brake booster, self-leveling suspension system use SLF
Mercedes-Benz: Use only manufacturer approved fluid

Look on the back of the bottle of fluid you are looking to buy, if it does not say is is approved by MB, don't use it.

SOURCE: Mercedes-Benz Transmission Fluid question

the transmission on your MB is sealed with no way to check the trans fluid level,(no dipstick provided for) that is why the report says "sealed". MB did this to stop customers from overfilling there transmissions, which can cause severe damage if not done properly at the correct fluid temp, this requires special test scan tools.

I drove the car in a bad rain storm and now no crank /i heard a noise comng from were the crankshaft position senor is located when the no crank occured

I'm guessing the noise is the starter or starter solenoid trying to work but has a poor connection. Going from what you say about the storm I would be looking in that area for a poor connection of the wiring. The crank sensor wouldn't make any noise.

New battery In mercedes no power

I'm not a car mechanic, but, it sounds like you might want to check the fuse to the ignition switch, and, if that fails, it might be a problem with the Start Safety Switch on the transmission. Good luck.

check to see if you are getting voltage to the starter solenoid from the ignition switch, it might be a bad starter.

Location for the starter motor relay 94 e320

The solenoid is part of the starter. If starter wont turn its the Neutral safety switch, solenoid, or ignition switch. Try to start in neutral, if it works its the switch, if it wont may still be the switch on the transmission.

How do I unlock the shifter on a 2000 Mercedes Benz S500

No you do NOT need a new transmission.
This model Mercedes uses an electronic solenoid in the shift housing, to take the linkage out of park.
There is a small plastic part, activated by a solenoid that pushes a release, allowing the shifter to come out of park. Most of the parts in the box were metal. This particular part is plastic and very frail.
It is not an easy job, but any mechanic can do it.

1998 C180 Mercedes (manual transmission) not starting

Starter %100
If You Can Push Start It= Starter
If You CANNOT Jump It With Cables = Starter

You Can Confirm This Next Time It Wont Start By Hitting The Starter With A Hammer And Seeing If It Starts. If It Does Its %150 Your Starter.

With Your Explanation I'd Already Have A New Starter Installed.
