What could be the causes of injectors not opening and spark plugs not firing

A long list of things. From fuses to ignition switch to ecu to security alarm and more.

Here is how to start looking: Turn the key to on. Do the dash gauges and warning lights and check engine light come on? Then power is getting to the switch and being sent out from it. Next, use a test light and check for power TO the coils and TO the injectors with key on. All four injectors use the same color power wire. My wiring diagram is poor quality, but it looks like a green wire or possibly a gray wire-remember same color power wire to all injectors-the other injector wire is a ground wire, and they are all different colors. Pull one injector connector off and check for power on one terminal with key on. And could do the same at the coil pack. With key on, the white wire with red stripe to the coils should have power-actually, the white wire is spliced and two white wires are shown going to coil pack-this is the primary current to the coils- is hot in run or start.

If no power to coil or injectors, here are the fuses to check: in the under hood fuse/relay block: ecu-10 amp fuse, Eng-15 amp fuse, and these maxi fuses: fuel inj-30 amp fuse, Main- 80 amp fuse, Ign-40 amp fuse. And one more- a designated Main fuse-15 amp fuse.
If these fuses are good, should have power going to injectors and the coil pack with key on. If the key is turning on the dash, some of those fuses are known good, but need to check all of those listed.

I will stop here, and wait for your reply. You get this far, you are on the way to diagnosing the problem.

2008 PT Crusier will not start. The coil is not sending power to the spark plugs. Brand New Coil, all fuses are good. New Camshaft sensor.... Still hunting the problem, any suggestions....

check that the immobiliser is operational. Check that power is getting to the coil ( ign fuse ). Check power from run position on the ignition switch to coil.

98 jeep put new crank sensor ' coil pickup' and coil ' i have no power to the fuse block on finder no fire to plugs and dont here fuel pump

No power to fuse block? This may be the problem. Check all your maxi fuses in the power distribution block. I think all the maxi fuses are hot at all times-check if they are getting power, and fuses are good.

Also in the power distribution center is fuse F15- a 30amp fuse for fuel pump relay, and fuse F6- a 15amp fuse, also for the fuel pump wiring. Check that both are good, and have power-F15 is hot at all times. F6 is hot in run or start.
This is the 4.0L inline 6, right? That is the engine diagram I have. The coil signal is from the ECU. Does the check engine light come on with key on, so you know the ECU is powered?

coil may already be busted or condenser in the distributor is already faulty.

After replacing the timing belt and resetting the timing correctly all of the sudden there is NO FIRE to the system from the battery. The car will turn over but no spark.NEED HELP, if anyone has an ide

Breeze, 4 cylinder: check fuse # 5 (20a), fuse #1 (10a), fuse # 10 (10a)- in the power distribution box. Check for power to the coil on the dark green wire with orange stripe. If power there, test the coil. If coil is good, suspect the cam position sensor or the crank position sensor.
Breeze, 6 cylinder: check fuse # 5 (20a), fuse # 10 (10a). Check for power to coil on the dark green wire with orange stripe. If no power to coil, try a new or known good Auto Shutdown Relay (in the power distribution center). If still no power to coil, may be a problem in wiring harness. If there is power to coil, and still no spark, test the coil. If coil is good, suspect the cam position sensor (in the distributor), or the crank position sensor. If all check good, may be a problem in the wiring or the pcm (computer).
Good luck.

The fuse to the ignitio coil has no power going to it. Is the fuse box no good? Fuse box under hood in engine compartment.

Your ignition control module may be bad. The coil gets it's power from the control module. The fuse is just a part of the circuit the power goes through.

No blown fuses/new coil ,cam sencer, crankshaft sencer but no power to my coil ...how can i get power to my coil so i will get spark

tim hodge63, Chrysler uses what is called an ASD (auto shutdown relay) relay. This relay powers the coil, injectors and the alternator. You can find it in the power distribution box (fuse box) located in the engine compartment. Replace the relay and power should be restored to your coil. Good luck with this.

MAKE SURE DISTRIBUTOR COIL IS GETTING POWER.IF NOT.CHECK IGNITION FUSE.IF FUSE IS GOOD AND COIL IS GETTING POWER.REMOVE COIL AND CHECK THE COIL PRIMARY RESISTANCE USING A DIGITAL VOLTMETER. IT SHOULD BE 0.1 OHM.SECONDARY RESISTANCE SHOULD BE 5000 TO 25000 OHMS..IF COIL PASS ITS THE IGNITION MODULE.IF COIL FAILS.COIL IS BAD.

No power getting to coil

The first thing you need to check is that the ignition fuse or fuses are good. If the fuses are good make sure the cars security system hasn't activated as it will also kill power to the coil and fuel pump. Hope this helps.
