Question about Renault Megane
Damaged card key and key card reader and steering locked.
The only way to get it out is by unscrewing the ESL and at same time applying force downwards while unscrewing, its the opposite of screwing, remember u have to tighten to unscrew. Its a bit hard ,cause the lock has not disengaged and sometimes u have to replace the screw.remember u have to remove all the panel to access the esl, which u can then unscrew.ive done this many time w/o removing the whole steering.unscrew while applying force downwards using a small end spanner.,pliers.

You should normally have two key cards, a simple test is necessary to come to the proper conclusion.
First of all insert one of the two key cards into the card reader examined what is written on the instrument panel if the message is card not detected
try the second key card, and if the second key card is, Detected then you have a problem with the first Key card.
With this small test you should come to the conclusion if there is a problem with the key card or the card reader.
This should answer your question, I hope I have been helpful.
