If its turning over fine but not starting I would suspect the cam sensor and would also check the crank sensor aswell as in my experience these vehicles do not give codes out for these sensors all the time but start off with the cam sensor

SOURCE: My 2002 won,t start. Can hear a click sound.

check the battery under load at a local parts store. Sounds like a dead cell. Also check the cable connections to the battery for corrosion. The starter could be bad but That would be a last check unless it has been dragging. If the battery and connections are ok the starter solenoid would be the culprit. Sometimes you can free them with a light tap with a wrench or LIGHT tacking hammer. It will still need to be replaced, though. Hope this helps.

How to get keys out of Hyundai santa fe 2002 truck... no tools... in broke til next week... am i screwed?

Well of your keys are stuck in the ignition it's simple. Make sure it's in Park and as you're tour in the key to the off position turn the wheel back and forth. If the wheel doesn't move it's because it's locked, so just try to turn the key backwards and turn the steering wheel left and right, this will unlock the keys from the ignition. Now if your keys are locked IN the suv you can make a slim Jim pretty easily, if you can't figure it out by googleing it then a pretty sure way to do it is by calling your local police department, not the emergency line, the local number and asking if a cop could unlock your car because you need the keys out as an emergency.

Crankshaft sensor

go to any auto parts store. the price should be 30%-40% cheaper than the dealer.
you don't want to go to the junkyard for this. unless you want to spend some more $$ later days.
you can also check out ebay.com.

The key wont turn at the final point to crank the car, last year my tumble broke, i had it fixed but when it broke i couldnt move the key at all, its not doing thay this time, 2 days ago i went to the...

Not an exact solution, but perhaps information that might lead to one.

1.Replaced the tumblers? I believe I would replace the entire ignition switch this time. It's my belief that the body of the ignition switch is worn inside, and will keep damaging the tumblers.

2.Do you have a tilt steering wheel? It's best to keep the steering column in straight line when starting the car, then tilt the wheel to where you want, after the car is started. When the steering column is in a tilted position, it puts undue strain on the ignition key switch, and the mechanism the ignition key switch operates, on GM vehicles.

This mechanism, consists of a half moon gear on the ignition key switch, that turns inside a 'Planetary' gear. I used the term 'Planetary', as the gear shape is hard to describe. It resembles an oblong loop, shaped like the number 9, with gear teeth on the inside bottom of the loop. This 'Loop' rotates, when the gear teeth of the ignition key switch, engage the teeth on the loop, and pushes a rod, or retracts the rod. The rod goes down the side of your steering column, and turns on, or turns off an ignition switch, located at the bottom left side of the steering column.

Having the steering wheel tilted, puts a strain on the ignition key switch internals, the oblong loop can break, and/or gear teeth can be stripped off.

2004 Santa Fe Ignition switch locked

I just had this happen to me yesterday with my 2002 Santa Fe. After trying everything (jiggling steeling wheel, shaking the car, you name it we tried it). We got a chain and pulled the car ahead about 2 feet. That didn't seem to do anything but we then pulled up the emergency brake into the lock position and tried to start the car (with the ER brake on) and it worked!!! The steering wheel came unlocked and the car started up. Don't know if it was the pulling of the car that broke something free or if it was the ER brake, but that was what worked for me.
