It is very possible that there will be a lack of power. Check that the cat converter is in good condition as they break up and block the exhaust. A faulty o2 sensor will also cause a lack of power as it sends the wrong signal to the ECM to keep the mixture right.

Why would fire be shooting from exhaust were exhaust manifold meets exhaust When iI'm trying to start

First of all why do you have them taken apart there. If you didnt take it apart then this needs to be repaired first. Any leaks coming from exhaust before the o2 sensors will cause fuel dumping or lack of. This is causing low back compression also

O2 senor rear how do u change it)?

O2 sensors normally don't require replacement to stop getting an O2 sensor code even on a 13 year old vehicle. They are an "indicator" to notify you that something is wrong. If the rear O2 sensor is causing a MIL light (idiot or engine light) you should check for an exhaust leak first (most common cause). If there is no exhaust leak before the sensor and the motor is running nearly perfectly with no bogging down in power and no loss of fuel mileage you can expect that the catalytic converter may be starting to fail and you are getting an incorrect exhaust mixture after the CAT. If that isn't the problem just try "swapping" a used O2 sensor from a junk yard before you spend any significant money on the sensor itself.

PO171 trouble code on 1999 contour. Possible causes? Description says fuel too lean, Bank #1.

you need to replace the o2 sensor before the cat, most likely found in the exhaust manifold or very near it. All necessary tools can be borrowed from the place you get your new o2 sensor from. Good luck.

I need to know where the oxygen sensor is for a 1999 Chevy pickup. My diagnostic reading is Po171.

the o2 sensor is going to be in the exhaust pipe near the cat.or in the exhaust manifold itself on the right side.

Check engine light illuminated, cruise light flashing; lack of power and "moaning" sound when engaging accelerator

is probably your o2 sensor. measures amount of fuel to oxygen ratio.causing lack of power. depending on v6 or 4 depends on wether you have 2 sensors or not hope this helps, ones by the header pipe and other just behind your catalytic converter on exhaust.

O2 sensor

O2 sensors are located on the exhaust system. Sometimes on the exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe, before and/or after the catalytic converter. You can change it yourself, but I recommend buying a specialty socket to do it. They are available at any auto parts store for 10-20 dollars. Now then are you sure you need to replace a O2 sensor, is it throwing a O2 code or unsure of problem. Also if it is throwing an O2 code dosen't necessarily mean the sensor is bad. It just means there is an issue with that circuit. And then the circuit could be fine but an engine problem could cause the computer to throw an O2 code (running rich/lean, etc.).
