Yeah they are. But I wouldn't put a used crankshaft in a vehicle. Way to many variables by doing this. Get a remanned with the bearings.

on the block close to the sump and flywheel on the front side of the engine it may differ on other engines above is for X18XE

The 2.2 DOHC L4 engines used in both cars is the same basic engine assmbly, you may however need to switch over certain accessory brakets from the car the engine is going in, other than that they are exactly the same power plant.

look on side cylinder block beside have to remove the starter to remove the crankshaft sensor.

camshaft sensor is going to be the sensor going to the head. and the crankshaft sensor is most likely around the area where the transmission and engine meet. if not then it would be around the area of the crankshaft pulley. the biggest pulley on your car.

2.0L D-TEC 14 VOLT (?-ed.). What is firing and coil order?

J20a or J20B engine?neither,
the forenza is a mix of parts. suzuki Deawoo and GM.
not something easy to work with
they used 5 but yours is GM.(kinda )
The US model line features the 2.0 L four-cylinder D-TEC made by General Motors,
It's no Suzuki J engine, at all. with COPS or twin packs.
no j20a twin packs
no J20B COPs (4 coils independant)
it has one GM pack. (key fact there)
there is a trick to make it run guessing 50% chance
ALL THAT MATTERS IS which end is #1
if you understand how wasted spark works.

I think GM calls it a L34 engine too

why are you looking? context, tells that and so we can know job, at hand or what service, is being done. (context)
im curious, or?
ideas' its in the FSM. covers all engines used in that car.
you never posted what engine.!
to fix car engines, you must first know what is there.

1.6 L Family 1 I4 (petrol)
1.8 L Family 1 I4 (petrol)[3]
2.0 L Family II turbo I4 (petrol)
2.2 L Family II I4 (petrol)
2.0 L X20DTL I4 (diesel)
2.2 L Y22DTR I4 (diesel)
on most cars the VIN tells you that
or the chassis serial and ID PLATE.
or just look at it. if not diesel then the displacement in this case
discloses what engine it is.

there are X engines, and L engines. (gm)

click YOUR engine and land on wiki page for your engine
and bingo the full letter name(code) for your engine.
eg: click 2.0
and find its a L61 engine. GM

or post VIN, or body tag. it has the engine codes , post them.
one of the most hard cars in earth to track engines used, reads like bad dream..

Suzuki xl7 2007 when you wiggle key in ignition check engine comes on with code p0008

my guess, op simple turns key to on, and is not really wiggling it.
just doing the normal thing. to start car.
then fails to ask a real question, just a statement in fact.
what does it mean.
what do i do (get car serviced as the opr. guide states)
what tests to do, if DIY savvy, RTM?
just 4 bucks to read it .

what is a good guess? (my guess is loose cam drive.)
all my guesses are useless..... car unseen or inspected.
3.6L V6. GM LY7 engine
Suzuki calls this the N36A engine.
with VVT cam drive
if the chain gets loose it can fail. this.
and lost more....
get it serviced?
or the tensioner is bad.? (wild useless guess 2)

Where is the crankshaft located on car

You cannot see the crankshaft because it is inside the engine. You can see the front end of it on the outside ... it attaches to the lowest pulley on the front that drives the serpentine belt. When the belt is removed it is the only pulley that will turn when cranking the engine.
