The first answer is correct additionally, Have the battery checked at the local Auto Parts Store. They will do it for free. A faulty cell in the battery can overwork the charging system and ultimately cause early failure of alternator and/or regulator.

Use a multimeter. Check voltage before you start car. Write it down. Start car and check voltage again. It should read 13-14 volts. Turn on headlights and check again.should be the same

Flushing cooling system for mr2 toyota 1985

I personally remove first the thermostat after I drain the coolant and then I fill the system with plain water and I use 4 soup spoon with DIXAN,if you know the clothes washing powder and run the vehicle for depends the dirt that the radiator has from 20 minutes to an hour. then Flush it out with plain water for three times until the dixan is cleaned. after that I put the new thermostat and the coolant and leave it run for 30 minutes and then turn off the engine and check the coolant level. Surely you will have good results as the dixan has the power to brake and remove the dirt from the inside engine surfaces due to the blue purples it has and cause the heat needed to clean. The inside of engine will get well cleaned without causing any damage.

On my 1985 toyota mr2 i changed the water pump but water does not flow to the front of the car where the radiator is

Did you wait long enough for the thermostat to open? It takes a while to actually see the water move. The thermostat rarely gets stuck in the closed position, It's the other way around, it get's stuck open. So, don't blame the thermostat, I would drive it and keep an eye on the temp gauge, make sure it doesn't overheat. Why did you replace the water pump in the first place? Was it leaking? Check it out, hope this helps.

Fuel pump not geting power

usually the oil pressure switch is connected with the fuel system if this is bad it tells the ecm not to power the fuel pump because it thinks the engine has low or no oil in it.
