Question about Cars & Trucks
Have the engine codes read (good auto parts stores are doing this for free) and lookup codes to see what the car is telling you.
Check transmission fluid levels.
It could be a computer problem or a transmission problem. After you get the codes try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery (suggest 20 minutes to an hour). Reconnect battery; idle car for a minute to let the computer learn what the proper idle should be.
Check to see if car is doing the same thing.
Also check the throttle body to make sue nothing is bound up around the throttle body. Spray the linkages to make sure they're not stuck.
Last, but not least, have transmission checked out by a qualified mechanic.

yes this sounds normal, the ecu is located at the left hand side and when the engine is switched off the noise is the ecu shutting all the componants down.
hope this helps

sounds like low transmission fluid, a dirty filter or both, to check the fluid level, open the hood leave the engine running put the transmission in neutral with the parking break on then pull out the dip-stick labled trans, wipe it off with a rag plug it back in then pull it our and look at the level. To see if there is a dirty filter look at the fluid if it is darkbrown or black and it smells burnt then you need to get your transmission flushed and the filter changed.
