The selector shafts have become loose/worn , take to a mechanic to have this checked out , with luck it will just need adjusting and not a new gearbox

SOURCE: Replace front speakers

its actually pretty easy. just remove the screws on the door panel. dont forget the one in the handle at the bottom. then remove the little triangle cover behind the mirror on the door. lightly pull from the bottom and the door panels pop clips will slowly come undone....once the door panel swings outwards pretty easily just lift up on the panel and it will come off....once its undone you can either remove the harness for the window switches and lock or just let the panel sit to the side still attached. either way works its just preference. then you just remove the speaker and replace with any 6.5inch you would like... reinstallation is the same..

SOURCE: How d you replace the starter on a 2005 Scion xb?

There are two bolts, one is at the top exactly opposite of the first one you took out. You will not be able to see it, but feel around the head of the starter where it goes into the block and you will feel where it goes.

SOURCE: How do I install alt. belt on 2005 scion xb?

I just looked at my '04 xB. It looks very straight forward.
loosen the bolt that holds the alternator to the bracket.
carefully slide the alt to the bottom. (Also be aware of the plug and wires on the alt. They should never hold the weight of the alternator. You dont want them breaking prematurely.)
Pull the belt off, remove the belt from the crank shaft pulley.

Do the reverse, and you will have replaced the belt.

Make sure to check the belt in about a week or so.
New belts will stretch over time. Make sure you keep the tension tight enough to work correctly, but not so tight that the alernator shaft is warped.
I usually place the new belt on both pulleys and give a good "medium" pull on the alt while tightening. Find the middle of the belt and squeeze them together, depending on the type and length of the belt, there should be about 1/4" of flex on both sides.

Instructions for replacing 2005 Scion xb water pump.

It's pretty straightforward EXCEPT you must loosen the engine mount and jack the engine up about an inch to get enough clearance to get it out/in because the engine is about 1/4" too far to the passenger side. Just did my 04' and that was a hard to find piece of missing info.2_8_2013_3_15_00_am.jpg2_8_2013_3_15_22_am.jpg

Where can i find a repair manual for a 05 scion xb?

Unfortunately neither Chilton's or Haynes has put out a manual yet for the xb's. Your best bet is to look online for a shop manual for them. There are two available, one is electrical, one is general, and they will run you about $60-$100 if you can find one.

I have a 2005 XB and have 105,000 miles on it. The rear just start thumping as you drive forward.

Check the roundness on the rear tires look for a hump in the tire.
Or check your rear suspension for a worn strut or loose connection. If you can put the cars rear frame on jack stands with the wheels off the ground normally laying on your back to slid under and check it out will tell the story. The rear just floats back there and is not connected to any thing from the engine or transmission. Turn the wheels the tire could have shifted a belt. You will see a high spot.

Driver's side door lock not responding to keyless remote or to interior switch - 2004 Scion xB

I had that issue with my scion xb. When I installed my audio system somehow the vibrations loosened the button wires clip . I removed the door panel and clicked it back in, also it could be a dead solenoid or disconnected door wire that goes from the 'noid to the door lock pin.
