Question about 2003 Pontiac Montana
When I turning the steering wheel left and trying to park on the right side of street, the van stops and is hard for me to finish the turn and it wont complete. But when I turn right it works fine. Please help me and how much to fix?
Check for central position of the rack/ steering box. If there has been recent work on the steering ,it is possible that the box/rack was not in the straight ahead position before it was connected up.

Sounds like the begining of a bad rack n pinion. We can eliminate the pump because the car turns to the right fine. There is no loss of fluid? The only thing left is the rack. It is a fairly commin issue. Use to call it morning sickness, The cars would be hard to turn in the morning or when first started but after running and warming up for a while they would start to work properly.

turn it on,, get out of the car & see if all the turn lights are working,,if u dont know how many,,turn right on first look at them,,then turn left side on,,sounds like u have a bad bulb,, hoped it helped

bad steering problems,,your steering rack most likely, but, have you recently been stuck in ditch? when wheels are straight, look at front of car when parked. do wheels look funny? one going one way, and the other going the other? may be alignment. is it leaking any fluid on either side of the front of the car? drivers side? passenger side? if it's not out of alignment,,,wheels out of alignment,,the steering rack is the problem. it may be faulty. if not leaking fluid,it may still be bad. first i would make a visual test look under the vehicle while someone turned the steering wheel to right and left while car is in park, emergency brake on!! look at the steering arms while they turn the steering wheel from right to left. no fluid leaks? any resistance in turning the wheel? any leaks,if so,go to leak and repair with steering line replacement.no leaks? suspect a bad steering rack. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com i love to volunteer

check your power steering fluid, if it's too low add some, but do not overfill. If that does not work could be the steering arm, might need expert opinion.
