1992 Chevy silverado will crank but run at a low idle..when I mash the gas it shuts off

There are a variety of problems that could cause that, but if you mash the accelerator and it dies, you may want to put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail to measure your fuel pressure. Assuming you have the V8 350 in it, that engine can require upwards of 30psi at the rail, and even a few pounds less can cause it to stall. You may have a dying fuel pump or clogged filter. That's where I would start, hopefully this helps!

Whistle noise

A whistling noise can be generated by an alternator at high RPM's and indicates a slip ring brush problem or a diode failing . It resembles a frequency whistle.. IT may also be from a leaking gasket and a partially blocked exhaust system from a failed cat converter and at speed and power, the exhaust gas is forced out the hole

Engine serges

Does it idle properly? If it idle properly and surges when you mash on the gas,you have a fuel pressure problem, you will need to measure the fuel pressure it has to be at 35psi to 45 psi

My 1997 chevy cavalier with 90000 miles is shaking at whatever speed, wha it your first impression?

If it shakes all the time whether mashing the gas or letting off of the gas then it may be a tire, but if it just shakes when mashing the gas then I would look at the driveshaft.

Why would there be oil in my cold air intake in my Blackwood? It runs but barely and extremely rough idle. I thought I got some very dirty gas from a gas can my husband used to put gas in it after he...

When oil is found in the intake it is most likely the pcv is malfunctioning. You say it is loose. The rubber it is seated in may be bad now that it has oil on it. You should replace the pcv and the rubber that it is seated in. If the problem continues then you may have the dreaded blow-by. In this case check all vacuum hoses for leaks. Blow-by means that your piston rings may be letting some compression past them. If so the pcv cannot pull the exess pressure from the crank-case. This usually requires new rings. At this point you need to deside if an engine re-fit is something you want to do or have done. This usually happens if the car i run low on oil or is over heated.Or running without/or bad breather filter.
