Question about 1995 Ford Escort
Where does the fuel line from the filter connect on the fuel rail?
1995 ,youjconnect to the pump.via the heater thingy thats just under the filter ,a square black thing with water pipes to it like a heat transfer unit ,think its the return pipe and not water pipes so the return fuel which is warm is cooling by heating the inlet . its not a common rail but a injector pump with a throttle cable old school style ,this is most likely a non turbo version which came out about this time or a year later.I know because i have a 97 endura turbo diesel escort ,fantastic car not fast but its a good old plodder

Find the fuel injector, then trace the fuel rail backwards to the connector, might be a saftey clip on top of the chrome plated connector....it's round and needs a special tool to open the spring inside the connector. The link below is for a 3.0L Taurus engine, same connector though.

if engine won't crack - dead battery
if engine cranks but won't start - no fuel or spark
fuel reservoir is the fuel tank.
a fuel filter can be inside a housing...

both the cam gear and the crank gear timing marks should point straight up. if you are replacing your timing belt you may also want to replace your timing belt tensioner and water pump. I have owned several escorts and have learned the hard way that it is a good idea to replace all of these at the same time.

The coolant temperature switch and fan control switch are located sie by side, mounted in the steel portion of the heater hose that runs from the thermostat housing to the firewall, it is underneath the air intake tube and the ignition coil pack, mounted to the back of the cylinder head. Either drain out some coolant or be very quick, and you can unplug and unscrew each switch from the hose and replace it with a new one. Make sure the engine is cold. After replacing make sure to check the coolant level add as neccessary. The single wire connector switch is for the guage, and the other is for fan control. Hope this helps, let me know.
