Question about 2002 Ford Ranger

How you adjust the window tack, so the window goes up evenly

Window will not go up evenly, just prior to closing the forward side dips down resulting in a gap at the upper back corner between the glass and seal

Remove the door trim to get to in side the door. One of the glass tracks will have an adjustment on the lower mount where you can move the track in or out depending what you want. Normally wind the window right down and adjust the track tight against the glass( make sure the glass is in straight). wind the glass up and down a few times to ensure that there are no tight spots Some spray silicon in the tracks helps with the movement of the glass.

My driver side seat won't go all the way forward. But when I let it back it goes back and goes down. When I move it forward it lifts up high but don't go forward enough for me.

Seat adjustment ranges are sometimes limited and sometimes there is a fault, such as a coin or something falling into one of the runners.

Cars intended for the premium market often have forward/back, up/down and sometimes tilt adjustment for the driver seat while for the small car, basic or budget market usually only have forward or back. Because on average a person who has shorter legs and needs the seat forward will also have a shorter body so enterprising designers have made the seat runners of some models slope upwards to lift the driver as the seat is moved forward.

Adjustable steering columns are fairly common, though only in the rise/fall plane. I haven't seen a telescopic column for many years. What is really needed is adjustable pedals but designers and manufacturers are very reluctant to go down that avenue, though there are companies specialising in such modifications.

You need to be on the ground on your knees with a good light looking under the seat to see if the available adjustment range takes the seat to the true limit of its travel in both directions.

Driver side window

Check for the window guide is correctly adjusted to hold the glass all the way down. There will be adjustment slots on the guide so ensure that the guide is in place

2003 Ford Expedition 10800 miles. Drivers side window will not go all the way up. Only goes 1/3 the way up. Tried pushing it up then down by pushing the window control

Hi and welcome to fixya,

You'll need to have the door window aligned. There are cases where the teeth "moves forward" thus never really completing a complete close.

I recommend having it done in a repair shop unless you're familiar with how to remove the side panel. I tried it once and it ended up busting the finish.

Hope this helps

DRIVERS WINDOW WONT CLOSE COMPLETELY

Hi, it sounds like the runners need replacing to do this the door panel will need to come off and the window mechanism stripping down this isnt easy to do and is a big job.

to get the window closed get some one to put their hands on the glass on either side with the door open
so one hand on one side of the glass and one hand on the other side then lower the window slightly then when you press the button to take it up get the other person to push the window forward and if that dont close it all the way get them to pull it backwards whilst its going up and this should then get it closed, dont get them to pull it up or down they need to push it forwards towards the front of the car or backwards towards the back then when you press the up button it should close.

it will need the window mechanism checking it might just be loose but it may need replacing.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

My driver side window goes up and then

the feature you describe is the anti trap function, its to stop kids getting there fingers trapped, sometimes if there is an obstruction it will do it itself...it is not adjustable.try unlocking/hold key over for 30 secs to see of the windows go down,if they do then lock/hold key over the windows will go up and you have just reset them,if not, then do not use autoclose to close it,until you have closed it normally that should reset it.Otherwise ,lubricate the runners to see if that helps.

My 1999 silhouette driver side power window generally goes down ok but when it goes up the window begins to lean forward and gets into a bind. Are there some guides that might be missing? I have already...

its not sat correctly in the guides, normally there will be a adjuster on the door genrally a 10mm bolt loosen it and correct the position, also check the inner window seal rubber that runs down inside the door sometimes the seals are offset when the regulater broke it bends the metal strip that hold the rubber in the correct position.

Where is the transmission fluid go in a 1991 honda

Looking at the car from the front, the dip stick/filler port for the transaxle is down very low at the left hand side of the engine, close to being under the battery. It is normally yellow or orange. Follow the large water hose that runs down next to your battery. The dip stick handle is right along side of that hose (to the right of it) down low. It will either pull out or unscrew. This is where you add transmission fluid as well as checking the level.
Hope this helps you.

  4. Loosen the forward attaching screws (2) on each side enough to permit the front of the glass to adjust up or down.
  5. Adjust the front surface of the sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2 mm (0.00 in. to 0.08 in.) below the top surface of the roof.
  6. Tighten the front glass panel attaching screws to 5.5 N·m (49 in. lbs.).
  7. Loosen the rear screws (2) on each side enough to make the rear adjustment.
  8. Adjust the rear surface of the sunroof glass panel 0.00 mm to 2 mm (0.00 in. to 0.08 in.) above the top surface of the roof.
  9. Tighten the rear glass panel attaching screws to 5.5 N·m (49 in. lbs.).

  11. Position the mechanism covers (2) over the glass tabs (1) between the locating features and seat fully.
  12. Verify sunroof operation and alignment.
There is a reprogramming from chrysler for the sunroof for recalibrating the sunroof for flushness also. the dealer will charge for this .You might want to do this first and then the adjust if not satisfied with the results.
