On icy /wet road if you step hard on brake going safe speed (20mph) max, you should feel pulsing in brake pedal . Preventing you from skidding, That means it is working !!! All is good

I would think NO LIGHT NO PROBLEM. This light doesn't stay on all the time unless there is a problem. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

    You received two answers to your question and both of us misunderstood what you were asking. Now all dash lights come on when ignition switch is turned on. If your ABS light doesn't then I would say bad bulb. You will have to remove dash cluster, and go inside to replace bad bulb. You can find these bulbs at Radio Shack. Take your time and think you will be OK. If you have any other questions please ask. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Why is brake and ABS light on in town & country 2008

Highly likely that your vehicle may not stop next time you press on the brake pedal. Either the master cylinder is failing, the ABS module is failing, your brake servo is failing, or you have lost a significant amount of brake fluid due to a leak. IT IS URGENT THAT YOU GET THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP IMMEDIATELY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IT WHEN THOSE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED SIMULTANEOUSLY.

How to reset abs light in a subaru forester

The ABS light on your vehicle will self-reset, once the condition causing the light to illuminate is rectified.
Reasons for the ABS light coming on are:
  1. Worn brake pads;
  2. Worn calipers (beyond tolerance);
  3. Defective ABS unit;
  4. Low brake fluid level;
  5. Defective master cylinder;
  6. Brake fluid leak.
It is important that whatever condition is causing the ABS light to illuminate is corrected as soon as possible, as it indicates a potential hazardous condition exists with your vehicle.

What causes abs light to be on

The abs light being on indicates the presence of a fault somewhere in the abs system & the system has been disabled.
Fortunately the design of the system is fail-safe so that your brakes will work just as if you didn't have the abs feature. The only time to be concerned about safety is when the red brake warning lamp illuminates steadily.
There are self-diagnostic capabilities in the abs controller so you could have the memory of that unit readout at a dealer to learn what may be wrong with it. Lot of times it's just a wheel sensor.

Good luck, i hope this helps.

T reg renault megane.ABS light and serv light on dashboard are staying on,are the 2 linked or is it 2 seperate problems.can i still drive the car with both dashboard lights on.

All the computers on the car are linked together. The ABS can trigger the service light on some applications, ie speed sensors. You can still drive, but you wont have ABS, meaning if you brake hard enough or in gravel the tires can lock up and skid.

You have to have the abs codes read, with a scanner, to determine what part is faulty in your abs system and causing the abs light to illuminate.

ENSURE THE AIR PRESSURE IN ALL 4 TIRES ARE THE SAME. CHRYSLER UNWITTINGLY HAS A TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) by having an ABS light.
When 1 tire turns slower (or faster) than the other 3, the ABS lamp illuminates when it thinks the wheels aren't turning the same speed, (they aren't). When properly inflated, (or all 4 at least at the same pressure, the ABS Lamp will go out soon, (not immediately). Maybe on the next drive cycle.

ABS Light illuminated on Van

ABS diagnostics requires a scan tool (Chrysler DRB II, DRB III or aftermarket equivalent). the plug is located near the brake pedal. this is the only alternative to get the ABS light off.

depending on the system if it is 2 channel or 4 channel one of the sensors that are located on the backing plate located behind calipers is eithier faulty or dirty you can try brake cleaner these sensors use a small magnet pickup device to sense when the wheel "locks up"
