Go to autozone,or orielys or advance auto, they will hookup a reader to tell you whats setting the light on.in my area they will do it for free.if you disconnet battery for more than 6 mins it will reset light but if theres a problem it will turn back on.

Firstly the CEL may have come on because there is actually something wrong, so GOOGLE how to read error codes and carry this out. Fix any errors found. Then, google how to reset the light.
Both these searches work.

SOURCE: check engine light on
You cannot reset the check engine light any other way than using a scan tool. Some auto parts stores will scan the vehicle for free then at least you will know the area of the fault.

If you have the problem resolved try disconnecting the battery for 3 minutes then reconnect, if it still stays on then you will need to go to Auto-zone to have them run diagnostic test for the truck once you have pulled the codes then select clear codes then reset the computer with scan tool. This is a free service from AutoZone. Be sure to write down all trouble codes so that it can be looked at later if it does not work. Then if it does not stay off post the trouble codes here so it can be diagnosed.
