I didn't drive with the E break on, when i put it on it sparked and didnt think anything of it. I just realized yesterday that my powered seats and adjustable pedal don't work now since that incident.

I didn't catch a wire with my foot when i put the break on. I looked for damages after that but did not find anything wrong with the wires or other plugs down there i believe, i have not check my fuses yet for the truck so i will look into that next. Thank You.

Do you have a question? or are you making a statement? Did you drive for quite a bit while leaving the e-brake engaged? if so you will probably need a new set of pads and possibly new rotors if they got too overheated.

Did you happen to catch a wire with your foot when you put the brake on? There is a switch on the brake pedal assembly that turns the light on when it is engaged. It is possible that this grounded out and popped a fuse. Check you fuse box for a blown circuit and check the wiring around the brake pedal for damage, this is not normal for anything to spark when applying the park brake.

I have done everything but look at the fuse box, i will look into that so thank you for the help!

Most Chevrolet trucks have the release lever located directly under the lower dash panel cover slightly to the left in the vicinity of where the drivers left shin would touch the dash if extended. If there's no release lever in that location it is highly probable that the lever is integrated into the emergency brake pedal itself. In that case, press once to apply the parking break. Press again to release the parking brake. Hope this helps.

How do I release my emergency brake on my Lincoln town car

There are 2 ways, depending on your vehicle. One is there is a little lever under the dashboard of the drivers side, sometimes hard to find, push it up or pull it towards you. The other is the press and release style. Depress the emergency break peddle and let up, it should be unlocked. To set the break, press the emergency break all the way down

How do i adjust emergency brake on 2004 silverado

With truck running, try putting the truck in reverse, then neutral, try the brake release again. At first the lever pulled out and the pedal didn't move. Then I put the truck in drive, it won't budge, I looked for a break in the cable and saw nothing, it looked fine. I ran to the web site and looked for advice. Meanwhile my wife, who knows nothing but to put gas in a vehicle and go, climbed into my truck and put the truck in reverse and neutral, then released the brake. She got me on this one.

I have a 1989 Reliant K and my emergency break wont release. You can pull on the lever and manually pull up the pedal put it cranks back down by itself when you let go.

Surprized you still have a K car running!
To fix this you'd have to get under the car and cut the cable going to the rear brakes.
I know, you don't want to do that.
It's the easiest solution.
I automatic doesn"t need a parking brake.

Emergency break cable broke on 2004 silverado

I had the same problem on my 2003. Open the driver door all the way. Get on your knees just outside the door. Follow the plastic tub that holds the parking brake release cable inside the truck. Start from the release lever and follow to the end of the tube. There will be a metal lever that the cable was attached to before it broke. You have to pull that lever with your hand to release the parking brake. Very Important!!!...Hold the parking brake activation pedal with your other hand when you release the brake. Let the pedal out slowly when you pull the metal release lever. The pedal will come back very fast and you could injure yourself if you are not careful. Good luck!
