Question about 2001 Pontiac Montana
I have recently replaced the water pump, serpentine belt battery, and muffler. spark plugs and wires within a year. I am not sure what else I really need to have done. I can start the van with no problems after it sits over night or just sits for a while, then, drive for maybe 10 minutes and it will start chugging then looses everything shows the battery and stalls. I have to sit and wait for about 15 minutes on the side of the road, a driveway (if i can make it to one), or a business parking lot before I can even get it to start back up. These steps are repeated until I get to my destination. i took it to auto parts store they came up with 3 codes p1189 p0420 p0443 i have sunk over $500 this month on this problem not including several tows I don't make much on disability and i care for elderly parent and we rely on this car to get to dr appointments. a quick response would be appreciated thank you
P1189 is the one that I would chase on a chevy product it will cause the car to die if your having problems with your oil pressure switch. an evap or catalyst efficiency codes will not cause the car to die

Testimonial: "WELL I HAD THE CODES CHECKED THE NEXT DAY AFTER LAST POST AND P1189 WAS NO LONGER DETECTED I CLEARED ALL CODES AND AM STILL HAVING PROBLEM. IT ONLY RUNS FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES THEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS LIKE A MISFIRE OR STARVATION OF FUEL. I NEED TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND GIVE IT GAS TO GET HER GOING AGAIN. A FRIEND MENTIONED IT MAYBE A COIL GETTING WARM AND FAILING. ANOTHER MENTIONED FUEL PUMP OR FILTER. ANY THOUGHTS?"

see if the crank position sensor connector is clean and tight, if the sensor or connector is bad, this will cause the engine to lose spark.

What was replaced in the tune up? Usually the coil paks cause these types of issues. Also fuel filter or fuel pump will allow enough fuel to start and sputter like you describe.
