More than likely a faulty wiring connection that has lost contact from the bump. Check all connections in the wiring and switches for corrosion and dirt.

SOURCE: non working speedo in 88 chevy pickup

Did the transmission you put in have the the pick up on the output shaft. Pull out the vss and see if the pick-up is on the shaft or a speedo gear is on the shaft. If it has a gear, you will have to change it to a pick up wheel. The older 700 transmissions used gears.

SOURCE: transmission swap what can i use?

They run in 3 year pairs on almost any vehicle. 2000-2003 or 05-07.
I recommend same model like montana. Otherwise the bolt pattern or balancer may be a tad different. You can always measure the bolt pattern. If you can find a venture with the same motor size, then you may be in luck.

SOURCE: lost electrical power to transmission solenoids

Found the problem. It was the ignition switch. Not the ignition cylinder but the ignition harness also called the ignition switch. This is the short pigtail harness down by the floorboard. 112.00 dollars at oreilleys. I thank you for your time.

Instead of tranny slipping hit a bump and stopped working.instanly

No year, make, or model. But you have an electrical problem. Check fuses, and plugs going to the engine control module and the transmission. Also check grounds. Engine , transmission and body. Transmissions always give some sort of indication the are about ready to die.

My dad has a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup with a hemi. He says every once in awhile he hits a bump and the battery lightcomes on and then the tranny goes into a creep mode. He says he has to pull over and turn...

sounds like a loss wire or a alternator going bad. it also could be a serpentine belt is stretched out or the belt tensioner is bad. the cause of the tranny going in to limp mode could be a loose wire on the tranny or the transmission solenoid

When on a long trip the tranny shifts hard after driving for a while the next day its fine

being a GM 2000 model, Im sure its has many miles, correct me if im wrong. Take it to a GM facility and have the transmission flush and filter change, Older high miles car on domestic car is a common problems. If you have close or 100k miles, have those thing done ASAP. It will solve some of your problems and will give you tranny a bit longer life.dirty or clog tranny filter can cause the problems and shorten the life of the transmission. being a 2000 model, tranny filter should be change every 50k miles. Only newer model have 100k miles maintenance free transmission. hope that help some

You have a bad wheel bearing, when you turn away from the bad bearing the wheel bearing is un-loaded and quiets down.
