As it went for a period of time I suspect that the fuel system has a problem. I take it that it is a diesel being a kubota. When diesel sits unused for a period of time gunk grows in the fuel tank. I suspect that this gunk has now blocked the fuel filter or that there is air in the system that has to be bled out. I would also check that the stop solenoid on the fuel pump is working to allow it to start.

DOES THE ENGINE TURN OVER??? OR DOES IT JUST CLICK AT THE SOLENOID??? DO YOU HAVE A SEALED BATTERY OR A BATTERY WITH SIX LITTLE CAPS.??? IF YOU HAVE THE CAPS... GET A PROBE WITH A WIRE AT AN AUTOMOTIVE PLACE.... OR CHEAPER YET AT, HARBOR FREIGHT. IT IS A TEST LIGHT .... PUT THE WIRE TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE AND UNSCREW EACH CAP AND PUT THE PROBE INTO THE LIQUID IN THE BATTERY.... IF THE LIGHT GOES ON... THAT CELL IS GOOD.... IF YOU RUN INTO ONE THAT DOESNT LIGHT.... THAT CELL IS BAD. THAT IS THE BEST WAY YOU CAN TEST A BATTERY'S CELLS... I DONT TRUST THOSE MACHINES AT AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS...THEY OVERLOOK DEAD CELLS.

DO THIS WITH THE CAR NOT RUNNING IN OFF POSITION.

Melted wires on the postive battery terminal

One of those secondaries will be the feeder for the ignition switch. The other may be for the fuse box, or may be for something else that is powered at all times-like the headlight switch. Here's how to clean it up:
First take off the negative battery cable-negative first to avoid sparking. Now you can pull off the positive. Most new positive battery cables only come with one "pigtail" or secondary insulated wire. But if you tell the parts person you have a Volvo and the year, they may have a cable specifically for your car with two secondaries. Or you could try the dealer for the right cable.
Barring that, if you just want to fix your old cable without buying a new one, you could take the stripped wire and crimp a new eyelet connector on the end and wrap the bare portion with several wraps of electrical tape. Now put the big cable terminal on the battery post, take off the nut on the tightener bolt, put the eyelet connector over the bolt, and tighten the nut down on the bolt. Now both secondary wires are attached? Put the negative post on and tighten it down. To avoid corrosion at the posts you can smear a little petroleum jelly (vaseline) on the post and cable connections, if you want.

Yes it does, it puts the batteries in series giving a total of 12 volts. If the single battery didn't charge before, what makes you think two batteries will charge any better. Perhaps the alternator/dynamo is faulty.

What do you have to do to change the battery,do you have to take off the supprt bar that runs across the top of the battery

Yes, unscrew the bolt that hold the support bar that run accross the battery. But before you do that, unscrew the postive clamp ( the one with the red rubber cap)l, make sure you do not touch anything, or have the wrnech touch any other metal, while you are unscrewing the bolt, otherwise you will get shock. Then do the same with the negative/ground clamp. Then take the battery suport bar out, careful not to loose any screws. Then pull out your old battery, and in with the new one, and make sure you have the postive to postive and negative to negative an dbattery position correctly. Should be postive negative mark on each end of the battery terminal. Installation is vise versa.

New altenator new battery but battery light stays on and car wont start without a jump and then dies while driving after a few minutes. i drive an 89 acura legend

Hi!!
Your best bet is to remove the battery or the negative battery cable, charge it and drive your vehicle to an AutoZone, Checkers or similar Autoparts store to have your charging system checked. If the engine is running, even if you disconnect the negative battery cable it should stay running, if it dies, the alternator is not working, probably the voltage regulator. If you just bought the alternator, try to take the vehicle to that place so they can check it. If you don't think the car would make it to the auto parts store. Remove the alternator and the battery to have them tested. It is not unusual that an alternator fails when just out of the box. Good Luck!!

You're going to want to connect it (the ground) to a clean non-painted metal area such as a bolt head. That should work, just remember to connect the ground first then the positive.
