Depends where you are. It is $265 parts only with pressure plate here in OZ. All done, about $1000.

In the USA about $1000-$1200 parts and labour both.

I have abmw 318i 53 plate. whilst driving the battery light comes on and the car jerks. This happens quite often. I had a recon alternator fitted last year and a new belt, but the light still comes on. Can...

Battery light is indicating that you have a problem with your charging system (alternator).
Sometime old faults are stored on system and need to clear the memory.
To clear the memory.
unplug both wires on battery terminal.
Touch them wire together that will clear any stored memory from the system.
Reconnect wire and re-check for any lights.

Hope that help.
