Replacing the control module on my 1997 ford explorer


the module is located behind the dash just to the left of the radio. remove the two screws below the radio and the dash panel snaps out and you can access the module

no the trans does not need to be dropped, but it is recommened that u replace the master and slave at the same time, cost about 2 hours labor, here in calif that is $220, plus $150 for the parts at rockauto.com

P1405-Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic (DPFE) sensor upstream hose off or plugged - or cracked.

I believe it is on the driver's side of engine about half-way down. also, check all other hoses for damage
