Hi Chuck Epps, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Did you try to start it again? Did it crank over or not. Did you look underneath for a sign of damage to the exhaust pipe or anything else?

Did you open the hood? It could be a popped serpentine belt or a broken timing chain or timing belt.

SOURCE: 1989 GMC Sierra truck doors loose

Hey there. You can purchase a door pin and bushing repair kit to tighten up the hinge area, requires removing the door to replace. If the hinge area is worn to badly, the brass bushings willnot last. Also your window crank handle is held on by a C-clip behind the handle in between the plastic shim and the handle which requires a special tool to remove or a small screwdriver to get the clip off.It is hard to see.The shaft that the handle is on are known to wear also and if thats the case you will need to have the window regulator replaced.Hope this helps.John.

What causes a 89 4x4 gmc Sierra to t bog down when your cranking it up and driving at low speeds

Maybe to much fuel. Does your coolant gauge work or register? Could be the ECT sensor. Could be fouled plugs also. Do you have smoke coming out the back? is it black smoke?

Have you checked the fuel pressure? I think that the fuel pressure is between 55 or 60 pounds. They won't run under 52 pounds.

How would i know if my timing chain is bad my truck just died while driving down the street and never started back can you please help me with this matter

need to figure out if it is getting gas and spark, once you figure that out then you can fix the problem. if you have a can of WD-40 spray it into the intake and if it fires then its a fuel problem, if not then its an ignition problem. Hope this helps Tim
